It really sucked to see it all stood up in the corner of the garage the last couple of months, but finally installed it last night, and did finishing touches tonight. I still have three rafter ties to raise and a couple light fixtures to move, but when all said and done I will have right at 70" under the car. I'll have to live with that, better than nothing! I did raise it without the car to check max height as this is a low column unit, 6'7" max! I WISH, but oh well, maybe I'll just cut my feet off at the ankles and learn good balance?;)
I decided to use the existing concrete because every manual I could find stated 4" is fine, so far, so good. (Hence the beater sleeping on it tonight) I also used 6 3/4" concrete anchors torqued to 110 FP's like they called for. Just one anchor has a pullout rating at 10,000+ pounds, and a shear of 13,000+ so that should be quite adequate.
I finished the 10' X 20' shed/garage extension I started two weeks ago and started to move all my garage stuff in there, but is taking forever to get it set up right. (NOT a packrat, too many damn tools!) So finish the clean out, raise the rafters, done. Paint her up nice and pretty in the summer sometime. Best $1000.00 ever spent!

Where did you get your lift? I'm almost ready to build a shop and have been looking at them. But in the meantime it would look good under my shadetree.

I bought it used. I've been seriously looking to purchase a new one for a number of years and everytime the funds where there something else came up... My wife was ready to plop down the funds for a rotary four post with center lift add on for a Christmas present last year till she overheard me mention it wouldn't comfortably fit and be practical. What a keeper she is!
As usuall, the best way to find a deal is to stop looking! I was doing the plumbing at a new gas station going in and talked cars with the carpenter on site for a month or so and he mentioned he had this for sale because he had to make room for horse stalls and he was going to sell his Chevelle anyways.
It' a USA Autolifters brand that has since closed their doors from chinese competition and the economy. Good thing is parts are still plentifull and it shares a lot of parts with Rotary brand.
The tear down and set up was a breeze! They are sooo easy to assemble. So for a 1/4 of the price of the one I initially wanted, I couldn't say no. Hopefully in a couple years I can plow down the existing garage/shed combo and build me my dream garage where I will have both kinds of lifts!

I thought that was Doomie's for a minute. Looks like only midgets can walk under there.
On a serious note, do you have a stop set so cars don't go into the rafters?

As much as you've been workin on cars I'm sure you did yourself a HUGE favor having this lift. Looks like I'm gonna have to come by and check it out!

Well finally started moving all the light fixtures and raising the wall ties yesterday and finished up today. Happy for now. I'll be on the look out for an 18' roll up commercial door next to replace this standard 16'. Now its time to throw some parts on that have been sitting since Christmas!
