Caliper paint......

Don't flame me but I was just curious what you guys would think about this ..... I was wondering if I could use the G2 caliper paint kit to paint my upper intake? I have used said kit on my calipers, and it seems to be pretty much bullet proof, it withstood 3 New England winters without as much as a blemish! I don't think heat would be much of an issue, I think it would hold up, just don't wanna spend big bucks for it to be powdercoated. Do you guys foresee any issues with that idea?

For engine parts powder-coating is the way to go IMHO.

Yeah, I understand powder coating it would be ideal, but its relatively expensive, and to be honest, Im not a fan of what silver powder coating looks like, its like a dull grey. The caliper paint has a nice gloss to it.

Then you must have been looking at Satin Silver PC but it also really depends on the surface, if it's not smooth or has raised casting it won't be real glossy. Look at the texture of your brake caliper and the upper intake manifold, different textures.

If you used the brush method, on the calipers, it would probably be easy to do since you wouldn't have to remove the intake from the car. Plus you'd be able to work it into the grain better.

I actually just recently purchased an upper/lower intake, but that one looks to nice to experiment with, so I might take mine off and paint it, and see how it looks

You'd probably want a bigger brush then what comes in the kit. Agree that removing the upper intake is going to be best. Of course, if you remove it, it would be better to spray it to avoid the brush marks.

The intake is very porous, so im not really worried about brush marks
