Horrible day today....took the car out just for a quick store run and i go inside to get milk come back and my car looks like this. I dropped the milk on the ground and began to cry almost instantly. This car is my baby and someone hit me. I parked about 3/4 of the way in the back of the lot and this still happened. I am just sick :bigcry: i just want to know if anyone has any maker lights for sale and possibly a front bumper. Also the main reason i need help is that the gray fiberglass piece that holds the light is cracked as you can see and thats what im really looking for or if anyone can tell me what to do. Please, anything you have to say or offer means a lot even if its just a word. Thank you so much and i hope this never happens to you. Here are some pics for reference.

Side marker lights are $35 on ebay. Bumper can be painted. Don't say you don't have full coverage too.

So help me God I catch someone hit and run ANY car. Spineless bastards.

Those header panels are readily available, but they aren't cheap. I got a knock-off corner light on eBay 2 years ago and it's still holding up fine.

The silver lining here (no pun intended) is the bumper looks like only paint transfer, so that will save you.

I hope you have coverage on this. Matching silver paint is hard, therefore can be costly. By the look of the picture, you're going to need to paint the whole bumper, header panel (new one will be primed), and fender, which also means blending the hood, grille, and maybe even the other fender. If you cheese out on the paint, it's going to be obvious.

Most importantly, keep on the lookout for a white car with silver paint on it.

True story:

Shortly after I graduated high school, I was hanging out at my girlfriends house when a man came to the door looking for his daughter (they knew each other). She wasn't there, so he left and I didn't think anything of it. I drove home that night thinking that my headlights looked a little odd, but I didn't think much else of it. The next morning I go out and see that my passenger side was crumpled up from someone backing into my car. I call the police, but they can't do anything because they really have nothing to go on, so I go on the hunt. I'm straining my mind trying to think of when this would have happened, where, etc... Then I got the idea that it may have happened at my girlfriend's house, so I ask where this guy lives. I drive up to his house and his Expedition is sitting in the driveway, so I get out and go look at it. Sure enough, there is red paint on the bumper that looks just like mine, at the same height as where the damage on my car was. I pull the car around the corner and call the local PD.

They show up and I roll up to the house with them. The guy had left by the time they got there, so we are sitting there waiting. Not 10 minutes later he comes rolling up, gets out of his car, and asks what is going on. The smell of alcohol is so strong it made my eyes burn. The police promptly arrest him, cart him off to jail on a DUI and hit and run. A week later I had a check from his insurance for the damage to my car.

Similar story. I went to a carnival one night around 1987. Next day I come out to my car and see that some orange (yes, orange) car had sideswiped my car the previous night. I didn't see it in the dark. So I went hunting that night at the carnival and found an old orange, rusty POS Chevy Malibu with my blue paint on it at the correct height. Called the cops. He agreed. They put out a bulletin to pull the car over when seen. Sure enough they pulled the guy over drunk that very night. No insurance of course, but I got my revenge. Went to court to testify against him too.

Did you call the police? The police can put the word out to local body shops to be on the look out for the color car that hit you.

Sorry to see that another spineless worm has struck. I hope you get everything fixed. As far as the gray plastic piece that the sidelamp bolts into? I also had one broken but much worse. I went to Advance Auto and got some plastic weld it is about $5.00 for a 4 or 5 inch tube. Inside the tube is the two part material. Make sure you have cleaned the surrounding area very well and sand some of the surrounding paint too and clean it. You break or cut off a piece big enough to repair the area and mash it together really well, it will start to get hot. Remember this stuff sets up in about five minutes and will stick to your fingers. When mixed well press it into place and shape it and spread it to the sides a little. If you practice placing the marker light into place before hand you can quickly slide it into place enough to mark where the hole needs to be drilled. It is not too hard after it is set up to drill it out into the oblong hole it needs to be. Then just repeat the process for the other hole. Just do not over tighten the nuts when you bolt it into place. Also make sure the outside face is fairly flush to the surrounding area where you cut the oblong hole since that will help make the side light flush to the fender. I hope this helps. Mine is holding up fine so far. You might also be able to use fiberglass but I am not too sure about that. Good luck!!

File a police report, then turn it in to your insurance. It should be covered under "uninsured motorist".

Actually UM is for bodily injury to people in your vehicle if other driver is at fault and has no insurance.

Hit & run in parking lot would be covered by Collision if the car has Full Coverage.

If no Collision, oh well... Gambled & lost.

I hate farging bastiches that are cowards & run away from their damage!!! :mad2:

That's what I like about mm.net, everyone is always helping each other.

My hot and run tale goes...wife was at the mall and someone opened their door and dinged my Marauder wanna be. Left phone number on windshield so they could get it fixed for me. Because of the old lady's willingness I told her don't worry about it. Ding is still there but I have no second thoughts about it.

Most of all, I am sorry to head about you Marauder. It really p****es me off too.
