Didn't know whether to post these under the Lounge or not, but I figger this'll intrest Canucks more than the average Marauder owner. . .

Wish I had one of these when I was a smaller kid.

Notice the Zamboni :)

Yep. Thrashers are still in playoff contention. Oilers are only a couple points out. Hopefully they won't meet Dallas for the 10th year in a row. Could be worse, at least I don't live in Washington :)

Dr. That is a real nice setup. You would never get away with having rink in a private yard in NY. Neighbors would complain and it would probably violate a town ordinance. :(

My neighbor swept all the snow off his pond, used a hillbilly zamboni, (wet towel and a bucket of hot water), and lets his kids play hockey on it.

I took Gage down there last weekend and he had a blast. First time on the ice. I actually miss it. I played throughout high school, got hurt really bad, and never went back. Now I hear they have dropped the hockey program from most of the high schools.:(

My office mate set up a big rink is his back yard.... clear plastic duct taped to form a waterproof barrier, with wooden boards (curved, even!) to hold everything up, and spent a couple of weeks forming a good ice surface with his garden hose. Worked out REALLY well for him...

... but THIS is something in an altogether other league!!!

I sent him the pics, told him to eat his heart out!

I saw the story on the news, Doc. Made me envious big time!

I still remember Dad flooding the 'rink' in our backyard in Toronto. I also remember him giving my older brother s**t when Dad caught him skating on a neighbour's rink! AND I remember walking to and skating on natural ponds near my house in Caledon later on.

I think they were talking low 5 figures for these rinks in your post. Still, you can dream, can't you? :)

Thanks for the post bud.

Thought I'd revive this thread, cause I saw my neighbour on the news last night, and just had to share and re-inforce that us Western Canucks really are a half a bubble off plumb. What kind of a nutcase invites a 1400 pound Bison into his house anyway? :)

The picture is kind poor, but you get the idea. . .(and look at the poll on the left!!)
