Why does my driver hid foglight go out after about 5 min? 5min later it will go on but 5min later back off?

After market HiDs are finicky.

But more specifically, probably a bad ballast.switch the bulbs and see if it still happens. If it does - it's the ballast. If it happens on ther other side - it's the bulb.

Probably a loose connection.

Sounds like a loose connection(s).
I've had aftermarket HIDs in my MM for a few years and have not had a bad ballast or bulb.... yet.

Ok so when I removed the fog lights to be sent off to be modded for the hid I could not get the harness connector off so I said I'll just cut it off and solder it back on later well I did this and it worked for a few weeks. Now it will cut on and befor it heats up it will cut off. So I re wired everything and it's the same but when I spliced more ground wire I noticed smoke coming off of it and it was not a copper color it looked like grey or maybe burnt does this mean my ground wire harness is fried and need a new harness if so how do I do this. Ok I'm done now:)
