Well since my original alluminator seller decided not to sell im at a crossroads as to which would be the more desireble setup:confused:
Order an Alluminator, or build a Boss 5.0 short block and freshen my stock heads.
Opinions welcome:beer:

Alluminator's are awesome motors I can atest to that 1st hand. However a 5.0 ltre sure would be nice that with massive port job on ur orig heads sure would be sweet. decisions, decisions either way you cant really go wrong!

How about a stroked 5.0 for about 324cid? That's what I wish I had done.

5.0 Boss with about 9:1 comp. Unless you want to run alot of boost then lower it just a tad more to be friendly on pump gas.

I voted for the Alluminator. Cheaper and readily available. Also should be good for 550-600rwhp anymore the stroker or BOSS50 with supporting hardware.

As long as you asked. The 5.0 block with a stroker. More cubic inches and horsepower to overcome the added mass of the forged reciprocating assembly. Get the heads done at Fox Lake or L&M, just a bowl port, new guides, new springs, grind, etc. Using the Trilogy? Get it ported.

Having built a $20+k six banger i really dont want to get that exotic this time around.
I had a good conversation with Lidio and we both agreed a 10.1 Alluminator will fit my needs, and keep it cost effective, since a 5.0boss will $6600 just for the shortblock!
I would still need to do the heads, buy cams, chains, tensioners, oil pump, ect which is way more than i care to get into plus with the Alluminator ill maintain the light weight block which is a big + for me:rolleyes:
so far the best price i have found for the Alluminator is $6650 shipped! if anyone knows where i can buy one cheaper please chime in, i would like to get ordered by next friday the 27th.

If I could do over in 2009; Alluminator 10:1cr and Vortech SC and be around 450-500rwhp instead of 330Rwhp/370rwtq for roughly the same money. Don't get me wrong I love the big bore but I have to be realistic I LIVE in Cali reaching the full potential of my motor is slim to nill because of CARB.

^^Stroker crank and BOSS50 (302ci) Iron block will give you 324ci
Stroker crank and Aluminum or Iron block (281ci) will give you 302ci

There are to sizes to the stroker cranks for alluminum blocks, mine is the bigger 3.80 and my block was bored 20 over.
So what size is it?

I think 324ci is the most you can go on a boss block

I would say go with the 5.0 and uprade to to 5.3 mmr is offering this deal for about 4500 with the choice of low medium or high compressio add the extra weight and up the ci by about 42 from the orgina 281.
Already saving 2g's then upgrade your heads with extra money.. I think thats the best route to go honestly. More power, less boost = less heat. And if power is what your really after up it later on with race gas.. That is my plan after I do my after I finish step one of Marauder modding..
