The Air Force 747/Shuttle flight is scheduled to fly around the Manhatten area and up the Hudson tomorrow morning. (Flight was delayed from Monday due to bad weather.)

Timing is still a bit "iffy" based on the weather.

In June, the Shuttle will be barged up to it's final resting place at the Intrepid Museum on the Hudson waterfront.

Flew up the Hudson River a bit after 10:30. Since we were already on top of the Palisades Cliffs, it looked even closer.

Plane went north of the GW Bridge, turned around out of sight, and came back south right along the Jersey side of the Hudson. Plane's lights were on, so you could see it approaching from a great distance.

Plane flew right over our heads. Huge. Really something to see.

Now, in June, we'll watch the barge take the shuttle up the river to the Intrepid Museum, and, once settled, we'll take a day to visit the museum.

I took some pics, but it was tough to get a good shot with the bright sun (hard to view).

I'll post when I get some time.

I was on the East Blvd around 77th street/North Bergen, a few blocks north of the Galaxie Towers in Guttenberg.

A bit south of Jame Bradock Park.

(Just across the Hudson from W96th street, Manhatten.)

This whole area was my old stomping ground from the mid 1950's up till 1967.

I lived on W96th:), and then on Mountain Road in Union City in the mid 90's:beer:.... My old deck would have had a perfect view for this (this road climbs the Palisades out of Hoboken).....
