Familiar with oil rigs.

Pros:
Two weeks on, two weeks off (lotsa free time to do stuff while you're off).
Great food served on the platforms.
Very competitive pay.
Interesting, challenging work.

Cons:
Two weeks on, two weeks off (typically 7-12's while you're on a hitch, no place to go, other than the galley, the rec room or your bunk while you're off).
Very little privacy, typically 4 to 8 bunks to a room, depending on your postion/pay grade.
No women, or if there are women, no fraternization.
Once you're there, you're there until the helo comes to pick you up.
If you're a smoker, ABSOLUTELY no smoking once you leave the heliport, and no consumption of alcoholic beverages on the rig.
Interesting, challenging work = very fast-paced, often highly stressful work.
Somewhat hazardous duty, not only are there the dangers associated with petroleum processing, but if storms come up, you basically just gotta ride 'em out.

All that said, if you're young and single, this type of work bets the heck out of flipping burgers...

Come on I did it for years. 60 on 30 off. The money was great and down time was bad.
If you are single and want alot of money do it.
I was a vessel Captain. But remember I was a bildge cleaner first. $16.50 a day and was glad to get it. That was about 100 years ago too.
Captains make $1,000.00 a day and deckhands $ 250.00, tankermen $ 450.00. Cooks make $ 500.00 a day.
