My 2003 Marauder is not my daily drive. Went to use it a few weeks ago and the battery was too weak to crank. Battery was not totally dead as the clock was still running and the dome lights came on but very dimly. Put it on the trickle charger for a few days. Took it off the charger but did not start it. Went to use it today and had a strange thing happen. Door locks worked. Lights worked. Radio worked. Clock worked. Inserted key and went to run position. Don't remember if I heard the fuel pump. The air suspension pump ran. Turned key to start and the engine cranked very strongly. But did not start. Tried a few times more but nothing.
Checked the fuel pump cutoff switch. It was fine. Checked the fuses under the hood near the battery. All fine. Tried starting again. Nada.
Don't know why but I turned on the headlights then back off. Then moved the light control switch to the left position and back to off.
Tried starting and it started! Ran a few errands that involved starting 4 times before getting home. Started each time.
Any ideas if the light switch system is somehow involved in the fuel system? Or ideas on what happened?
