I had a '72 with a worn out 350. It wasn't a sleeper either.

Love it! I have a '71 Nova. It's also a sleeper....that seems to never wake up. :D Stock 307 block with a few bolt-ons.

I don't know about sleeper, anyone who doesn't notice the back hides and the ladder bars would be an idiot. But man, the car is awesome. It's amazing those dog dish hubcaps don't come flying off, lol. I'd love to have it.

Monica was watching this with me and in the beginning, when the nova went past, smoking the tires, she asked me if Doom was driving, as a joke. Haha

Awesome car!......:bows:
I'd love to see in-car videos of suckered chumps getting wasted by that Nova while street racing.....errrr......street pacing.
If I win the lottery, I'd do this type sleeper with an old taxi cab CV.
Drop in the new 5.8L Shelby GT500 engine with twin turbos in place of the blower and run a smooth, quiet 1,000 HP sleeper.....
Or drop in an pushrod 427 cid Windsor SB with twin turbos and make a smooth, quiet 1,500 HP......:sleepy:

I personally don't see Nova's as sleepers and wouldn't be surprised if I got smoked by one!

An old friend of mine did something like that to a turd brown, '73 Regal (I think it was a Regal.). It wasn't anywhere near that quick, but mid-12's in the late 80's would surprise the Mustang GT's and IROC's in town. He'd pull up, rev the engine, they'd laugh and he'd kick their ass. It never got old. Definitely a project for the bucket list.

I actually saw this car at the Hot Rod Power Tour back in '06 when it came to Englishtown, NJ. Unassuming, to say the least...until you looked underhood

Agreed.

I'd run 95% percent of the MM's on this site in either of my two Novas or Jeff's recently finished LQ9 powered '70.
