Greetings,

I’m a new member I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado; I just took delivery last Sunday night of a 03 300A Marauder, VIN #2mehm75v13x611695, one owner, all stock, 33,000 miles, all paper work included. Car is very nice, very clean had really bad or strong gas odor in car when I picked it up. Got it home aired it out, I know they filled the gas tank before loading the car onto car hauler, car spent 12 hours on car hauler from Missouri to Colorado Springs, Colorado. Monday I washed it and drove it down the freeway 40 miles or so to bring the gas level down in the tank, car runs strong no hesitation or stumble but gas smell has returned after parking it. I’ve been crawling around under it and looking at gas lines, tank filler tube, gas cap, and tank itself not seeing anything real obvious. Gas odor is coming from rear of car. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks
Crown75

The evap canister/cartrige is mounted on the bottom of the trunk.
Look for possible damage/hoses off/leaks in this area.

I spilled a little gas out of a gas can in the trunk. The smell lasted a few weeks so it's possible that the carpeting in the trunk has a little gas on it.

Casey or PonyUp maybe hiding in the trunk, releasing gas....

Yup, received an EPA warning today for those emissions, they attributed 142 deaths to me and I'm now a national crisis

Pull my finger...

Give it a few days, sounds like it was overfilled or on a slant with a full tank on the carrier. If you don't have a CEL on the evap/purge system is good then it's prob a flooded evap system
And it will take a few days to purge itself of fuel.

Thank you for your input. I'm not sure what the CEL is, but it does seem to be subsiding.

I was wondering what that wind burst and cloud of smoke that came through late last night in Afghanistan was. The picture is clear to me now. IT WAS YOU !

Anything from Obama is a commodation...can't believe I have his signature on my retirement letter...oh well....I can say that now and not be in violation of the UCMJ....WOOHOO....suck on that BarRACHHH!!!!

(If, for some reason, I can be charged with a crime for the above statement, I apologize...weed makes me do some crazy s**t)

(If my admittance of smoking weed can, in any way, have me incarcerated, I never inhaled...my friends were smoking it in my vicinity)

With a Vin # that low, it was probably built in the first week?
