I've driven it :)

The paint is terrible (roof issue), dent in the fender, and a few other small issues.

The aftermarket exhaust sounds great.

How much should I pay for this? How much will it cost to fix it? Repaint it?

I found an 03, black, 40k. The interior is perfect, runs great. New tires.

The wheels were painted black and look terrible. The owner was quoted $800 to return then to stock.

The paint has issues. Drivers side doors and rear quarter have faded, looks like it was repaired (cracks where the roof line meets the quarter, belt height I guess).

There is some damage where someone tried to break into the driver's door. There are two dents on the trunk lid where some kids bike hit it. He was quoted $1,000 to fix it.

Other than that, the paint isn't perfect. The roof looks a little pitted, it makes me nervous.

So should I buy this thing? I think I could talk him down to the high 10s. Maybe lower.

Do you have any pictures you can post? Is it from a dealership or a private buyer? My gut instinct tells me you have a price on mind that you want to pay for a marauder. Stick with your gut & don't feel pressured

From the pics I'd say just move on. There will be one in good-to-go condition in your price range. I'd suggest you consider higher miles to broaden your chances of of getting a nice car.

Interesting ^^^^^. In 8.5 years of ownership, I have never had a problem with brake dust ever. Road grime Yes; but brake dust Nope.

That MM appears to be an early 2003 300a. Mileage may be under the typical use; but it looks to have had a fairly hard life. Serious road rash on the wheels. Should have the curb feeler mod for parking assistance. :rolleyes: Missing lugnut/cap. Some non-trivial body damage too. Wonder what it looks like under the hood and how well it has been maintained considering the external shape? :dunno: I'd be really cautious (and suspicious).

My guess is $9,500 as a top starting price. JMHO. Deduct repairs from there.

This MM badly needs another home.

My advice, wait for one that's nice and clean and go any distance you have to to get it. Even if it involves a plane ticket. Don't even think of spending 11k on that one, I sold one nicer than that for less than half but with high miles. I bought a low mileage trilogy for 11k. It needed some work but it's great now. My advice do your homework and be patient.
