This after noon I was driving the MM. And the car starts acting up. It's slowing down and not picking up the way it's suppose to. Well I go pick my son up from school now I am thinking what could it be saying to my self hope it's not the trans. Well after picking up my son now on my way home I start seeing smoke coming from the car and a bad smell I am saying OMG it's the trans well I was around the corner from my house so I just took the chance and took it home. I pull in to my drive way get out and look under the car it was the brakes the were sizzling. The is a plastic under the dash above the Petals on the drivers side that was holding the brake petal down just enough to let the car move and at the same time to give it enough friction to get the pads that hot. As of now the car is fine. Thank God.

Better get the brakes inspected.....for safety & peace of mind.
Rotors may be warped due to the heat.
Also pads may be compromised.

Just be glad you and your son are safe, it couldn't been a lot worst.

That stupid plastic had fallen down a bit on my car when I bought it. It could catch your foot if you ever have to jump off the gas and on the brake which could be much, much worse than what happened to you.

I would check the calipers too. The rubber seals around the pistons or the dust boots might be damaged

Think that I would have stopped long before that to check for binding somewhere if the car was not acting normally. Unlikely that I would have driven more than 2 blocks. But hey that's just me.

I am going to get the brakes checked this weekend. To make sure all is good. I hope all is good.
