*A ricer is basically a car that is "All show and no go."
**But getting more detailed a ricer is a car usually of Asian origin [ex. Honda, Acura, Toyota, etc.] that is "dressed up" by adding:
A "coffee can" exhaust which does nothing to the car's performance it just makes the car louder.
A spoiler that they claim adds more downforce but it really adds more drag and alot of spoilers look like they came off a Boeing 747 jet.
A cold air intake, to let the engine get more air.
***Excessive stickers many in which their car has nothing do with [ex. A non Type-R car with a Type-R sticker.]
Lowered suspension in which they just take a pair of cutters and cut down the stock springs
Unusual body kits for "better aerodynamics as they say" but they really make no differnece.
Some ricers even go through the trouble of adding gauges in which they don't need [ex. a tachometer in a car with an automatic transmission.]
Ricers may even take off doors or anything else they don't need to make their car weigh less.
****A good majority of these modifications add nothing to the cars performance.
*****The people who drive these ricers [aka. Rice Boys] think they can beat any car and think they "own the road."
<HR>
*Not all ricers are "All show and no go" some ricers are very fast [ex. Nissan Skyline.]
**Not all ricers are of Asian origin, some are of American origin [ex. Ford, Dodge, etc.] and some are even of European origin [ex. Ferrari, BMW, etc.]
***Not all ricers have pointless stickers, you may see a NOS sticker but you can't say the car has no NOS until you see whats under the hood.
****Some modifications affect performance, the fart pipes may add 5-10HP.
*****Not all Rice Boys think they "own the road," but the majority of them do.
To add to one of those, I saw a Camry with "Honda Racing" lables on the back the other day:shake:
