Will Installing Underdrive pulleys void my Ford Warranty?

Thanks,

It depends David, on your place you get the car worked on. Some places will void your warranty if you don't use the "recommended" 5W20 Motocraft oil.

But...I say that the Steeda pullies are so "stealthy"...that most wrenches won't even notice them.

There are no guarantees...you need to discuss such things with whereever you are going to have it serviced.

Most of us have found that a majority of the L/M dealers don't have a clue (with a very few exceptions in some areas)...find an SVT Ford dealer...they are most used to dealing with high-performance engines...not "blue-hairs" coming in every couple of years for a Grand Marquis.

This is true- very sneaky...

I haven't met a wrench yet that knew what a Marauder was. I doubt they could identify parts on it.

IMO. If a problem develops FMC will go over your car with a fine tooth comb and find any MODS. Anything to hang their hat on. :(

While that's true, it's also best not to brag about your mods on these message boards, because Ford is watching. I've seen it personally on a Land Rover forum where one of the guys installed a lift kit and bragged about it, to have a CV joint fail on him while he was offroading it which cost $9000 in damage because the halfshaft then drove itself through the transmission case. Warranty coverage was denied, and when he went to arbitration, Ford had literally printed out every single thing he had posted on that message board regarding his lift kit. Of course, if you have just about every mod available for the Marauder including a blower, I guess you really don't have anything to hide :)

Doesn't the manufacturer have to prove the mod caused a particular failure in order to void the warranty? I thought the Magnuson Moss Act helped us modders out.

Not pushing any product/supplier below, just a good read:
