Hey everyone,
This just started this afternoon. What happens is that when I turn the HVAC control module to "OFF", it won't turn the fan off, but rather just turn the air distribution to the floor outlets and the fan keeps going. If I manually turn the fan speed wheel at all, it doesn't change anything either.
However, I turned the fan speed control this morning and it worked just fine. Don't know what's going on but I'm annoyed with it.
Thanks,
Chad.

I had this issue about a year agao, I ended up getting a replacement EATC head as something was messed up with the electronics in it.
Another possibilty may the the blend door actuator.

I've talked to a few friends that have had various '90s era Panther platforms and they both suggested it was the EATC head, so that's where my thoughts are now. If it was the blend door actuator, wouldn't it not switch to different modes? I mean it switches from defrost to floor to dash just fine and it goes from cold to medium to hot just fine, so I'm not worried about the blend or mode doors.
How much was the EATC head? Can you use one out of a Grand Marquis or Crown Victoria, or does it have to be out of a Marauder?

I think the head was used in multiple vehicles that featured the climate control option (including the F-150, IIRC). PM RoyLPita for a part number and vehicle cross reference.

Cool, I'm ready to pull the trigger on the part and get it ordered up, but I want to be 100% sure it's the right part and I get the best price.

You going used or new?
New will set you back over $500 through a Ford dealer.
Used (if you can find 'em) run between $100 and $175.

...and if you get one used, be sure to replace the vacuum solenoid o-rings with silicone ones before you install it.

It's changed a little bit this morning. Now I can turn the system "OFF" and I can use the control wheel & steering wheel controls to change the speed of the fan, but it's either HI or OFF. Still makes me think that the EATC head is out

It's your fan speed control. It's located int the engine compartment. Had very similar symtoms to what you described.

You mean the BCM.

Yep, that's what it was. I took it into the local Ford dealer and they replaced the blower speed control. Works perfectly now.
