For those running the type 100 heat exchanger from Frozen Boost (Rex/SC Cheesehead, i believe you are running one), what type of fittings for the i/c plumbing are you using on it?

I was looking at ones with a 90* bend such as this:
http://www.frozenboost.com/product_info.php?cPath=212&products_id=173&osCsid=34bbab25bd527dc6e96cec9 ac007e72c

it is 1/2" -----> 1". I guess the barbed "out" depends on the plumbing size, which I haven't yet gotten to. Was going to get the plumbing tube size from the Trilogy manual.

I guess main question is whether you are using an elbow style or straight style? Does anyone see concerns over flow with an elbow/90* type?

It looks like it may be a "tight" fit with the straight style fitting if mounting the heat exchanger like it was done in Rex's eaton swap thread by Impalaslayer.

Thanks.

I just used straight fittings. I think I bought them at Home Depot.

Thanks guspech! You the man!

Another quick question: Where did you mount the intercooler pump? Driver's side? Also would you have a pic of that also (LOL)?

Justbob mounted the pump in front of the right front fender well. Picture is from underneath looking up. Froozenboost.com has really nice pump mounts for like $5 or $10.

boom. thank you.

also found straight fittings at the local FLAPs.

I am starting to mount some of the "ancillary" stuff so I think I will start an eaton swap thread for pics and my questions, for which I know I will have many (and ask the mods to combine this thread with that one).

Same with mine. Dave fabbed a small aluminum plate into a bracket, mounted the pump on the bottom side, and the connections to the top side. You'll want to make sure it's down far enough to clear the air filter when that gets installed.

Thanks! I'll be mounting mine in the same general location (i.e. in front of the right side passenger wheel well/front fender well area). Was actually going to try and mount it today but just took my time with some other things and then spent some time with the family.

Show us some pics of how you did yours! I have the kit from FB. Its only 2 screws though and now I think I should have bought another one to make it hold down tighter with 4 screws.I'd lke to see how you did yours

Fabbed up a bracket and test mounted it today. Will post pics in the other thread. It's not pretty but it works and isn't going anywhere!

If you decide to use the straight barbed fittings, make sure you purchase prebent 90* hose.

What have you decided to use, elbow style fittings or straight?

straight fittings that I picked up at advance auto for $6/piece.

was going to use elbow style but frozen boost did not have them in stock with no ETA....so straight fittings bought locally was what I did.
