As you all know, 2011 was the last year for the large full frame rear wheel drive Crown Victoria. I decided to buy one while the getttig was good. The only option missing is the sunroof. But it's always too hot or too cold to use a sunroof where I live anyway.

Very nice. Someone was on here bragging that they are actually pretty efficient stock too.

Poor guy don't think they ever found him.

The 2011 seems to burn 50% less gas than my 2001. I drove it 40 miles home, and another 35 miles around town last night and today, and it is still sitting right up on full almost. My 2001 would have used 1/3 of a tank in the same distance. So..... it is more fuel efficient than older models.

Nice Vic. Can you get us some hard numbers as to the fuel efficiency?

I have the same experience with our newer CV police cars. Very good gas economy, of course we are a mix of stop and go, low speed patrol with occasional highway speeds. 60-70 MPH range. After 4 hrs the gas gage hasn't even hit the quarter mark.

Just for general interest my 09 gets around 20 mpg in the city and on the highway (at 72-74 mph with a/c) I get around 27 mpg. Not bad for a car that big.

I will also confirm the newer models got much better gas mileage for me, I rented a 2009 GMQ and was getting 22 city, 29 highway. In comparison, I get about 14 city highway mix in the marauder (50/50).

Oh yeah and nice CV! Looks great!

Your CV looks great? Is it a Sport? What is interior?

Sports were gone pretty much after 2007. There are a few 2008's around but quite rare. I think it was mid year 2008 when all Panthers got the 17" wheels standard across the board. the CV's Got the Sport wheels. And GMQ's got Town Car Wheels with Mercury logo Centercaps.

I was talking with an older guy one day at a fruit stand. He asked me what kind of car I had.I told him and then he proceded to show me his crown vic.Light blue.He opened the hood and it was a police intercepter motor with what looked very much like a CAI.The "computer was right there ,very easy to get at..Under the hood looked almost empty compared to the MM...Turns out he was a detective.Told me his was the under cover model.Different grill.Chrome vs. black,I think that was it..Nice guy.He opened the trunk and along with alot of radio stuff was a glock, sitting right inthe corner ready to go...

That's because they went to drive by wire, eliminates many mechanical components from what I understand. This also is what must giving these newer cars much better gas mileage.

Dang, I need to trade my 03 GM for a newer one or a newer CV.

It's a special order LX. There were no more sports in 2011.

It has leather interior.

It has leather interior.

How does the leather compare to the Marauder and recon they have Dark Charcoal if they are interchangeable??

I'm gonna get a dark interior one way or another!!:argue:

The leather is not as soft as Marauder and a little more plain. They haven't had dark interiors in Civilian/rental Crown Vics/Marquis since like 08. The 2011 model year was all rental/fleet only, maybe even earlier went to rental/fleet only like 2010? I dont quite remember. The last couple years all came with the sport wheels, leather interior.

The 2011 model year was all rental/fleet only, maybe even earlier went to rental/fleet only like 2010? I dont quite remember. The last couple years all came with the sport wheels, leather interior.

I have been told, and we all know how this works (rumor mills), this was a self serving rumor.... probably started by Ford. They did not advertise or want to sell a civilian Crown Victoria as production winded down. Dealers were still allowed to order a few....IF....they wanted them. And most dealers didn't want them because they sat on the lots for 4 to 8 months before selling. A few of the very last last Crown Victorias off the assembly line were special order civilian LXs with a sunroof. Some of the few options not available on the 2011 though was the dark interior, console and the bucket seats.

Nobody in my immediate area ever received a cilivian Crown Victoria for the sales lot. But a few did show up in northern Virginia and Maryland. I looked at a silver LX in Silver Spring, Maryland a while back. Brand new, 8 miles on the odometer, CD6 player, and MSRP stickers still on the window. But it just didn't look good with the beige leather interior.

The 2011 Police Interceptor could be had with bucket seats and the dark cloth interior. A deputy sheriff that lives near me got a black 2011 with the dark charcoal interior. It of course has the dull silver plastic wheel covers.

While my 2001 is an authenic police package, I opted for the civilian model in 2011. Every new 2011 Police Interceptor I located and looked at had the driver's side spotlight.

Yes. 50% for normal people. 35% for those with medical waivers.

I have 35% on the front windows.
