I'll be putting in 3 weeks notice at work today. After 13 long years in the Semi-conductor business and the last 6 years behind a desk as Customer Project Manager and then a Manufacturing Engineer I am moving on.
Got a new job less than 5 miles from the house as a Manufacturing Tech. It was little pay cut based off base salary but I'll be hourly instead of salary and will be back to working with my hands. Just the 10 minute drive vs. the hour plus I drive right now will be worth the difference due to time, gas, and maintenance cost I'll save. Will finally be able to park the MM and make it my weekend cruiser as my truck and soon to have Cougar will be more than reliable enough to make the drive. If I had to I could ride a bike and be there in 20-30 minutes.

Well, did it a little bit ago and it seems like they will have me serve out my last 3 weeks. Big change definitely outside my comfort zone as I have been with the same place for almost 13 years.
Just glad I finally did it and will be able to focus on whats important in my life. Hopefully no more living to work and just working to live from now on. Time to start making babies.

I've worked both sides, Management (salary) and Labor (hourly),

Sounds like a good move. I did not want to go into management just because it would put me out of my comfort zone. The increease in pay was not enough for me to do a job I would not enjoy. I worked in electronics for over thirty years for DOD and liked most of my work. I retired April 30th of this year because I was not enjoying the work environment. Took and early out and have not looked back yet. Good luck in your future endeavors.

Make babies and drive a Marauder sounds like a great plan to me. Also, Congrats on the new job.
