by right, no chebby engine in a ford. 390 is a great engine, much better than a sbc.

Pretty wild, the transmission isn't even covered.

Looks like monster energy drinks owns that one. The emblem on the side looks like theirs.

Big +1, JB!
I got some photos of a couple flathead rat roads I took at the last GVL cruise-in that I'll post up later on this evening.

I'll take a pic of mine, once I get it.... :o
Seriously, I may or may not do at least one or three more major changes on the MM, but in the very near future I am looking at two purchases for long term builds in no paticular order. One, a tri five big block N/A gasser, the other a mid 30's or so Ford, blown flathead, 3 sp. Lincoln tranny, quick change rear, and lake pipes. I want it to be around 42" high on bags chopped, channeled, and sectioned. Basically what appears to be a 60's era barn find. Just really time to move on to something different.

Who buys a rat rod for fricking gas mileage? That's the most invalid point I've ever heard, ever.

Here are a couple pics of some Rat Rods at the last Cruise-In. This guy has three of them; each is a real work of art.
Take a close look at that "throttle linkage," it is 100% functional (as is the "Mercury" air filter bonnet). :D

Do they call them Rat Rods because rats live in them?

I must have stood there and looked at the car for 20 minutes. The thing is an absolute Rat Rod work of art. An example it that throttle linkage, it looks super cobbled, but works flawlessly. To take something that looks so complicated, but works so simply took some planning, time, and effort to pull off.
