I know some of you guys make serious power over here, and figured this would be the place the ask. I'm just curious as to what kinda numbers some of you guys that still use stock u-joints (1330 series) and driveshafts have. And if you any of you guys broke stuff, and what HP that happened at.

I was wondering that myself, bc I noticed my Dynotech shaft only has 1330 series u-joints

2 members come to mind, that are putting down big numbers that may chime in...
Triple Threat and MartyO.
Or, you can read this -> http://www2.dana.com/pdf/DSAG-0200.pdf
I can recall speaking to an applications engineer at Dana Spicer U-Joint Division about this very subject.
Driveshaft loads are calculated using many variables and not just based upon horespower output.
Be prepared to do some math, and have a calculator handy to get a definitive answer to your question.
Another possible source would be calling Dynotech in Michigan.
I have worked with them in the past when in the quality department at Dana - Spicer, and are good folks to deal with.
Let us know what you come up with.
;)

I know it's a power to weight ratio kinda deal, I just wanted to get a general idea. I know I weigh a bit less than a marauder, and was curious of a ballpark figure because if I'm making slighty more power than X marauder, yet weigh X amount less, then I should be alright.

So..... how much power are you making?

"slightly more power than X marauder"!
Take your driveshaft to a good shop that fixes or makes driveshafts.... mostly like will be a place that repairs trucks. They can recommend replacement u-joints, install them and high speed balance the shaft.

So..... how much power are you making?Car isn't together yet, turbo kit is being fabbed up right now, so it would all be bench racing. But based on a complete guess, it is going to make somewhere around 650whp

But I couldn't really care less what HP it makes, I'm more interested in track ETs.

stock driveshaft won't fit in your build anyway, you'll have to cut it. Get a steel shaft from a CV and have it shortened then balanced. Do you even know the length you need?
I'd go here: http://www.dennysdriveshaft.com/

Are you saying a Marauder DS won't fit in a CV?

A marauder drive shaft will fit in a p71, but will not fit into a standard CV, the tail shaft/ tail housing in a standard CV is and inch too short.

Nope, the OP (traitor!) is putting an LS (chebby) engine and trans in a vic, one thing is certain, an MM or a CPVI shaft will not fit "as is"

I know the driveshaft won't fit. The TH400 is longer so I'll have I get it cut down. I've already got that covered, and that's the place I already ordered my yoke from them.

So, back to the original question. Who makes a lot of power on a stock driveshaft. Like 600+ WHP.
