So I have read the sticky on the differences of early MM. From everything else learned here I have a pretty good grasp on exterior colors. See if I have this right.

All early 03 were black. Later in the model year they added blue and silver.
In 04 they dropped blue for the red. So black and silver were the only 2 colors made both years. And was it just the earliest black 03 that had paint issues? Was blue the rarest color?

My question now is what interior color choice was avaliable with each color and did the same color combos continue for interior for the black and silver both years? I know the light gray with the blue is pretty rare, but can someone tell me what the interior/exterior choices were for each color?

Only two interior colors were offered: dark charcoal and light flint.

All colors were offered with either interior color.

Dark Blue Pearl is the rarest, 328 built, of which those with dark charcoal are the rarest of the rare: 113

Black with light flint in the next rarest, I believe there were less than 200 built in that combination (across both production years).

Here's the production specs for the 2003 model year:

both dark charcoal and light flint were available in all colors. When it comes to the blues , the dark charoal interiors are actually the rare ones only 113 made of the 328. there is a chart here somewhere, but I'm not sure where.

Yeah, there is; but unfortunately I don't have an electronic copy of it to post up. Hopefully somebody else will jump in with the info.

So is the dark charcoal essentially black? I almost always see it listed this way in ads.

No Black is "black." Dark Charcoal is more of a very dark gray.

If you try to do any color matching on the interior surfaces, you'll find that out real quick. ;)

On the window stickers they say Dark Charcoal and Dark Charcoal w/5-Passenger Nudo Leather Seating.

Good stuff! I saved this as a .jpg file in my archives for future reference.

So it looks like between the '03s and '04s, there were a total of 271 Black/LF cars built, pretty rare combination.

There is dark charcoal and then there is black interiors. There is a difference.

There is dark charcoal and then there is black interiors. There is a difference. I am absolutely certain that the interiors offered were just the two; light flint and dark charcoal. There is no "black" interior. :cool:

Not when it comes to modern Marauders unless it's a custom job.

I'm curious as to how many DTRs were built with light flint, no heated seats, no moonroof, and no cd changer?

Mine is optionless.

Yes, exactly what I'm looking for! Thanks. I am getting ammunition ready to fax over to my insurance adjustor and this will really help paint a valid picture of the rarity of our vehicles.

A little further breakdown of Black/ Light Flint:

All Numbers are based on Ford Performance Group Breakdown Matrixes:

03 Black (UA) with light flint (GC)= 115
04 Black (UA) with light flint (GC)= 156

Total Black (UA) with light flint (GC)= 271

Total: Black (UA) Production run (03, 7093 and 04, 1237) = 8330

Breakdown: Production percentage of Black (UA) with light flint

03 = .016% Approximately (1 per 100)
04 = .126% Approximately (12 per 100)

Nice analysis, OZ. So if one is looking for a JPB/LF, then odds are slightly better findng an '04; but either way, definitely a rare combination.
