So I got jims lcm 3months ago and 3weeks ago my park lights would not come on only heads and breaks but when I tap on the lcm park lights go on. Then two weeks ago no headlights at all so I removed jims lcm and used another mm lcm and now my park lights come on without a tap but still no headlights. I jumped power from battery to hid and they come on when I switch to off they stay off. I installed a oem bulb and that comes on. Return to Jim for repair will not happen
Sorry to hear about all your problems bro.

If you used another known "good working" MM LCM and still having issues then the problem is beyond the LCM and something else.

You mention "tapping it" with Jim's unit for the lights to come on. With the other issues you've got; the tapping of Jim's unit could be a short or bad connection in your wiring somewhere. Not Jim's box.

I removed and reinstalled jims lcm thinking that to

You've got a problem under your dash.
Tap the box; parking lights work; you've jiggled something back into place. (connection or wire).
Tapping both boxes; solves the problem.
You jump the lights from the battery; lights work. *you've eliminated the under dash wiring*. Of course they'll work.
You changed the OEM bulb; they work. *your still eliminating the underdash wiring*.

The taping would only work on jims lcm.

^^^ yes but it's possible you've moved a wire or jiggled a plug.
I've even had wire a wire is "intermittent", and found it to be the metal connection inside one of those multi-wire plugs. ie. like any plug that goes to a module / lights. Or moved a wire j-u-s-t enough to stop a short to metal.
Had that problem on one headlight on my Mustang. Just slightly move the wire a hair; and viola...light! Even just popping the hood from in the car turned the light on.
I'm just saying this is a very possible solution; based on that no one else has posted an issue after having Jim send them a fixed box.

Ok so I guess I'll move the wires around. Thanks for your help and I did not even pay you anything yet lol

When I had issues with my brake lights, the culprit was a chaffed wire. Might be worth spending some $$$ to have a diagnostic done...sometimes you just gotta break out the wallet/checkbook to get things fixed...

There are a number of fuses that relate to the LCM and lights.
All are located in the Passenger Compartment Fuse Panel.
#6 (15a) - LCM
#15 (15a) - LCM
#18 (15a) - Fog lights
#21 (15a) - Parking lamps, Autolamp & interior lamps
#23 (15a) - LCM
#24 (10a) - Left side low beam headlight
#26 (10a) - Right side low beam headlight
#27 (25a) - LCM, cornering lamps & High beam headlights
Sounds like a loose connection or other wiring issue.

I didn't realize dealerships had the power to turn people away that bring their car in to have it fixed...that just straight BS right there! I'd let that place know you'll never bring your car in for anything, tell everyone you know the same, and even let the higher-ups know what's going on. That's just a big pile of horse***** that he wont look at your car!!!! :mad2:

Last time I checked a business has a right to refuse to service someone for whatever reason they deem.
Some dealerships do not want to get into a vehicle that has an electrical issue with aftermarket parts on it. More damage could be done to the vehicle even when trying to diagnose the issue and who is to blame for all of it, the dealership.
I don't work on vehicles that come to me that have an ABS, BRAKE, AIR BAG or a CEL on in regards to something starting or electrical on the vehicle. It's a liability issue and some business can see a headache vehicle coming.

Tracing & repairing electrical issues is a very special skill. If the dealer has no tech employed skilled in this area they will turn away to avoid a negative encounter with a customer. Not good when an unskilled tech bills 35 hours and problem still not fixed...
And yes, businesses can turn away anyone they wish. Getting a car serviced is not a "right". When I was wrenching we had to turn down clients now & again. In my current business I turn people away all the time.

I would appreciate it if you would not make your current disgruntlement with Jim public. It's not doing any good.

Where is that capacitor from?
There is nothing like that in the LCM I repaired / upgraded or the HID kit I sold you.......
There are over 100+ members that have my upgraded LCM installed with no problems, NONE, NADA, ZILCH!
I sold a bunch of HID kits... just like the one I sold you..... No... absolutely NO reported problems... NONE!
If you want to take a trip up to North Carolina I'd certainly be willing to take a look at it.

That cap came out of that thing behind it. It was loose in there and that big part is part of the hid kit

I guaranty everything I sell. Send it to me and I'll get it replaced. Is there still a problem with the LCM?

Don't worry about it Jim. I'll order another kit and have it in a few days. I got another lcm and that works. Just to make things short simple and sweet I'll eat some more crap and smile
