What kind of HIDs are you guys running in your MM's I mean temperature wise ? , I got pulled over last night around 1:30 after watching dark night 1 mile from the movie theater. Officer said reason I'm pulling you over is because of your Blue Headlights I have 8000k headlights and Foglights. He gave me a warning and let me go. Should I go with 5000k or 4300k ?
Thanks,

The HID color temperature goes from 3000K to 12000K.

The lower the number the more light output but the yellower the light. The higher the number the less light output and the light gets bluer until you get to purple.

I would never go higher than 6000K. It has just a hint of blue

I've had 6000K before, switched to 5000K and was a lot happier with it. More light output and a cleaner white color.

Ask DOOM how much he likes his 5000K heads/fogs.

I like the HIDs, but the scatter and "hot spots" from the CVPI headlight housings is pretty bad. I had to point them down so much as to not blind oncoming traffic that I might as well go back to halogens. Is it because the MM headlight housing is so different from the CVPIs?

I've been running 8000k heads and fogs for over six years and lever been pulled over or flashed.

Some states don't allow you to have red or blue lights on your car. But hid's with 8 10 and 12k are everywhere so cops don't care about that but the cop that got you was just being a ass. I would only worry about that cop next time but if your concerned about it go with 6 or 5k. I got 8k up and down and never got that problem

I've had Hi & Lo k HIDs in my MM for over 4 years. Never been flashed... never adjusted the headlights.

Are the MM and CV headlights housing that different?
I got flashed allot until I lowered them, now they are too low to my liking.
Never been hassled about them by the police tho.

Probably just pulled you over cuz it was 130 and he wanted to check if you were drunk.

Yes they are. Don't pay attention to the shape of the housing, look at the difference of the reflector shape.

These are the 1998-2008 CV headlights. The CV reflector is taller and thinner then the Marauder.

Marauder - The reflector is placed towards the center of the headlamp and the reflector sits back further in the housing.

Thanks, that makes perfect sense on why there is so much scatter in the CVs. Shame the MM housings aren't a direct fit on a CV.

Keep in mind the sensitiveness of the human eye. The sun has 6000 Kelvin and our eyes are made for it. As more as you go to blue as colder and darker it will look like. With increasing the blue light output to compensate it the difference between shadows and light will be more harsh. After all, driving with it at night will tire your eyes sooner as with the 6K.

Btw. if i compare the light output of my Camaro with the Marauder then the MM seems to be bright as a sunny day. :D

Talk to the Birdman!

He just needs to get 5000K replacement bulbs from whatever company he originally got his heads/fogs from.

Never seen or heard of anyone atleast in my area pulled over for anything less then 8K or less. So I would think that time of night he was making a late night stop for the reason of possibly stopping a drunk driver. But like others said 5K are just perfect and absolute best light output.

Ctrl raven hooked me up with the 5000k hid kit headlights & fog lights. I was pleased with the light output. Was just trying to figure out why my lights kept coming on after I replaced my lcm
