View Full Version : For my friend Maury (cruzer)
Mercury has announced the return of the hood ornament for certain '04 Grand Marquis models. I saw this and thought of you, my friend. Now get over to your connections at John Eagle and get them to get you one!!!

Already been discussed...

Seriously, though... I was once considering something like this. But after the tint, it just doesn't match where I'm going with this car.

and Maury had to make one up for his Marauder. Now...Mercury actually has a factory one available for him.

Maury wasn't involved in that discussion. And besides, nothing became of those ideas.
This is gonna be available, and I'll bet Maury will like it.

They come on the two tone special edition GM's. These are GS's too... something to excite the sansabelt croud in to trading in thier old model, knowing full well they won't buy the top of the line GM. I think it's a GS option, too, not available on the LS.
I've seen the two tone in other than the green/sand two tone. There's a dark grey metallic over silver birch that looks nice. With ornament. Also a white over silver birch. That one looked kinda funky.

Thank you for thinking of me folks, but, I already have my hood ornaments--check my personal photo gallery--the first one was stolen and i could not replace it--I now have a different back but the same round medallion--my "show" emblem is the crystal Lincoln '91 ornament with the god's head logo for the ignition key mounted on it. I don't have ANY "waterfall" logos on my Marauder--I have always hated it--and yes, I do use it for a gun sight--makes zeroing in on ricers much easier.   Maury

Looks great, Maury! VERY classy mod!
By the way, I just need to clarify, my reference to the "other" thread about alternate hood ornaments was made in jest. Forgot the inclusion of a "smiley", it was all I could do to keep the contents of my stomach from seeing daylight all yesterday (still haven't eaten anything today). Just wanted to make sure this was understood.
That looks pretty cool, Maury. Keep eating rice!

That looks much bettter without the grille ornament LML. I agree with Maury though, the "waterfall" Mercury road "M" has to go.
This is just too much

TTA, if I didn't enjoy being being laughed WITH, I wouldn't have put the ornament on the car--Let's have fun

Some of my customers were very upset when they discontinued the hood ornament on G. Marquis and Town Car. They swear it is necessary to help them guide their car down the road. Scary.

Most senior citizens like them to help them guide thier car into the garage.

Any hood ornament somewtimes comes in handy when you have to park a larger vehicle in a garage or some other space that you can use the hood ornament as a `reference' point up front. If you ain't never tried one, don't summarily knock it.
OTOH, Maybe we could actually create a kool hood ornament in keeping with our MM. Enjoy,

Thanks for the compliment--I consider myself a SSSSC--figure that one out :) Really , I found out their value when I was blinded by an 18-wheeler at night, raining on a winding mountain road---the only way I kept the car on the road was by using the hood ornament to line up with the right side of the road---worked like a charm---won't drive without one--even carry one of the kids little suction-cup arrows to attach to the hood of rental cars :P
