View Full Version : Radio issues! What?! I cant hear it!

The radio in my Marauder is very very quiet. I have to have it turned all the way up for it to be at normal volume. With the windows all down I can barely hear it. Every now and then I get a burst of loudness and scares the crap out of me but for the most part I can barely hear it. Any problems with these things? I tried messing with the speed control but no bueno.

The only known common issue is with the FM getting nothing but static. Supposedly a bad solder joint, but no one here has confirmed that or if it's an easy repair. No issues with total volume, though...

With the quality of the radio after a few years (as most of us know), this could be just another "oddity" with these things.

Best to just upgrade.
I personally went with a deck from an '06 Escape (there are threads on that), and I like it. But you can upgrade to whatever you like. You probably won't have any luck with this deck anymore. On it's way out.

I had the same issue except on the AM dial years ago. They changed every booster/amplifier and wire on the antenna circut, the amp., then finally the entire radio to fix the problem. I have it again, so maybe a trip to the FLAudioS is in my future. Meanwhile, there's also the lilting tone of cam chains at 5000 and up rpms.
