I've tried the search function, and Google search, no help. I locked the car last night with the remote, this morning the remote won't work, changed battery, still doesn't work, checked fuse 7 it is good. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

You may have to buy a new remote from the dealer, like I had done earlier this year when mine quit working even with a new battery. Ford part # 3W7Z-15K601-AA.

Try amazon for the FOB.
Just had to get a replacement for my F150 and picked up two new oem FOBs for $16.00 shipped.

That's cheaper than the "aftermarket" ones I've seen at Pep Boys! Good info loud2004marquis!

I bought one of those "flip keys" from EBay with the 4 button remote and the chip inside it. I love the piece but I can't get it to program. The seller said I'm the first one it didn't work on. I sent it back and got another. I havn't tried it yet. Just wondering, Do I need to program the chip first before I can program the remote? Just looking for sugestions..Or if anyone has one of these units..

I went swimming a month or so ago with my keys in my pocket (oops). 3hrs in the water, and I got out, panicked that maybe I'd ruined it - but no, it worked!
Tony, I've got a fob from my recently-totaled '04 Marquis. If it's the same part number as Karen's fob I can send it to you; you'll just have to program it.

Thanks Adam, but Karen never drives it anymore, likes the truck better, so I've got hers.

Remotes that operate most all other Ford products will NOT operate the '98-'05 Panthers, period... As far as programming the key prior to the remote function, should not make any difference...

Thanks for the info.. To bad, I liked the flip key but will have to send it back. So do I have to order one from Ford with the same part number?
There are plenty of remotes on ebay, just be sure the FCC ID matches your remote... Probably half of the sellers don't have a clue that '98-'05 Panther remotes are different from the other carlines...

Well this guy didn't have a clue. He said mine was the first that didn't work and since he sent another one out... well you know. Thanks again!

Just out of curiousity. How did your Eaton swap go.. Harder than you thought or fairlly easy?

No idea, I bought it with the SC already installed...
Since it's a Zack swap, I imagine there weren't any surprises, he'd already performed a few when he did this one...

She looks great. How does she run?
It's strong, prob run a 12.85 or so... That's based off a few 1/8mi runs that were a tenth and two MPH quicker my 5.0 T-Bird that went 13.11 in the 1/4 on the motor...
