Just when you think it is safe to make a legitimate left turn at a light, you don't expect to get hit by someone making an illegal u-turn for a second lane...the second lane. Passenger side door and quarter panel was banged pretty bad. Good thing though, Nationwide is on my side. They are covering all my losses down to getting my wheel repainted because of the scratches it sustained as well as a new tire. She is scheduled to be returned to me this Friday the 10th. Do I hope so because I am currently driving a Dodge Avenger and I hate it. Any longer and I am going to need a Marauder fix.

Damn Big House!!! :mad2:

I'm glad you weren't hurt and the marauder is able to be fixed!

Yes sir...God is good, keep me safe and the other drive safe. And yes, repairable is always a good thing. If they don't get my car back to me by the weekend, I am going to need a ride in yours to get the monkey off my back.

Damn William that sucks. Were the wife and kids with you at the time and are they ok?

Thanks guys. The the momma house and the little houses were at home. The kids would have been traumatized had they been with me. They tend not to forget bad things that happen. I had a friend run out of gas once and since then they make sure to remind me about that incident and make sure I always have gas...even when I am full.

Your story is precisely why I am buying collector car insurance for my MM
MetLife has a subsidiary company that specializes in collectible insurance
My mm is now insured at a declared value of 45k with a zero deductible for under $1100 a year
It's
Too easy for adjusters
To total our cars these days.

I'm glad you weren't hurt and your MM is fixable

Sorry to hear about the damage to your MM, William. :o Hope that she's back on the road and better than new soon.

Never underestimate the stupidty of drivers in the DC Metro and Northern Virginia area. This is a large part of the reason that I "retired" the Marauder from daily driver duty back in February. Just trying to limit the exposure to these vehicular morons on the Capital Beltway and area roads.

In my case back in '03 with only 2K miles --those guy in the trash truck who hit me from the rear--saw me get out in the road wailing my arms up and down fully stretched out ( had it 100 days old) -- yelling "my car, my car" ---- the officer later told me .."those guys in the trash truck---well, they saw you doing your arms and thought you were saying .."come on sucker....just come on out ......"--and they said to me ..." we thought that guy was going to kill us ..inviting us out of the truck..thats why we waiting till you arrived"....

Sorry to hear about this Bighouse....... I remember seeing your car, and Defyant's when I joined here back in 2006, and saying to myself "Damn!!! One day my Marauder is going to be that nice".

Looks like they are doing a good job for you though. Hate that ya have to ride Chrysler.... They could have at least dropped a 300c on the big man.... I mean, it still would not come close, but come on:D

Enterprise called me last night and told me the car I was driving was being grounded. Got a 2012 Escape this morning. It is peppie as heck but I cannot wait to to get my beast back.

That info is great and apologies for threadjacking, but how do most members on this site insure their cars? Especially the owners with aftermarket equipment (superchargers for example).

^^^ I got a policy last year with Hagerty. Special Interest Vehicles. It a 19A policy. I don't use it for DD, so I'm fine with it.
Gets written off - I get full agreed value.
Something less happens - they have people on staff that search out specialty parts.
Plus I pay less that half of what paid before.
Win Win.
