Picked up my new silver MM today. Don't think I've been this excited about a new car in a long time!

I showed up at the dealer and saw my car waiting for me. I did my intitial walk around the car and was quickly disappointed to find a couple of minor paint defects and the right rear rim had some real bad chips in it.

The rim is now being replaced (why they couldnt just take the one off the other MM that was there was beyond me) and due to come in a few weeks.

I proceded out the dealers drive just to get down the street and notice some strange adhesive/glue type substance on the dashboard. I turned around and they took the car to the detail guy (needless to say I was real worried about what he was intending on using, but I placed my faith in them).

After about 30 minutes, they came back with my car. I looked inside and the dash was worse than before. I dont know what they cleaned it with, but it took the "mat" finish off the plastic and made shinny spots where the glue was. Now I have a dashboard on order as well!!

O.K., a rough start I know, but after a few miles down the road, things started to look up. The farther away from the dealer I got, a few freeway on/off-camber on-ramps and I was grinning again like a kid. Wow, what a fun car. I foolishly found myself even messing with a local policeman in his Crown Vic, thinking to myself, "I'm faster than you, lalalalala".

I have to admit, I jumped the gun yesterday and already ordered my Stage 1 Kit, sway bar, driveshaft, KVR brakes and Silverstars. I also stopped at my local stereo shop to discuss a serious sound system!!

Thanks to everyone on this site, your discussions really helped sway me towards this incredible car..and to think I was even contemplating a Chevy Tahoe!!

Thanks again,
Pete in San Diego

welcome!

Some dealers need to fire their PDI people. All of that should have been taken care of.

You will love the car though!
