View Full Version : Replace fog light bulbs
I ordered H1 bulbs, I hear you need to hook the bulbs into some adapter that comes on old bulbs and gets switched over. Is it complicated to gain access to fog lights, is there anything i should know or precautions I should take, The car looks to need to have the front end jacked up and wheels taken off to gain access to bulbs.

I'm sure everyone has their own way of doing it. I turn my wheel to the right and reach in and unplug the connector going to the light. (Left Side) then give it 1/4 turn to remove. Once in your hand it's cake. remove bulb from housing and install new bulb in housing reinstall into light housing plug connector back in. done.. Same goes for the other side.

You can also use an H10 bulb but will need a drimmel to slightly mod the bulb to fit. It is easier to replace the bulbs with the front in jacked up.
Driver's side can be accessed while on the ground with the steering wheel turned all the way right since there is no splash side in the driver fender behind the foglight, passenger side there is one so going in from underneath is the only way.
Each side right below the foglight is a splash shield, it is held into place with several bolts and I think one push-in tab, remove that and you can gain complete access to the foglight bulb and housing.

You do mean the bulb holder / socket... correct?
I'd use the H10's also if your going with HIDs. I found they are much easier to modify than H1's.
You also need to make sure the socket is sealed with silicone to prevent water intrusion.
If you want, assuming your will be using H10's. send me the foglights, HIDs and the wiring and I'll install the bulbs and test them. You just pay shipping both ways.
