Leftover Plasti Dip? Here's an idea!

Had plenty of Plasti Dip left from doing my front grill. So I sprayed my helmet!

:flamer: helmets, hard hats, and other safety items as such could be stucturally damaged from spray paints, and other chemicals. they should not be applied unless its made for that specific application. does my hard hat have stickers not approved for hard hats? yep :rolleyes:.....just giving a heads up

Plasti Dip peels right off. It does not stop the helmet from doing its job.

its not about peeling off, its about weakening the plastics with the solvents and propellents in the spray paint/plastidip. its like patching your gas tank with duct tape,...gas will eat right through it.

im not saying that you cant do it either, more than likely it will never make a difference, however, if the helmet ever failed, your lawsuit would go down the drain...just as easy as that plastidip peels off;)

Either which way, in my personal opinion I would not put it on a helmet. I am pretty sure a track pfficial could give you grief for it if they wanted to.

Hit it with some clear coat, will give it a good shine and seal it up until you want to peel it off.

Plasti-dip is extremely flammable in liquid/vapor spray form, once cured I'm not sure how flammable it is but shouldn't be any where near what is it like in it's original state/form.

Whitey you are right. As a retired Safety Director I would never do that to a safety helmet.
But it is a free country (for now) and you can do anything you want to do.
