I just came across a site that has all the info you may need to repair your car...Google ANYTHINK...click on 24/7 library...you have to put in the barcode numbers from your library card when asked...scroll down to Chilton library, put in your year, make and model car and you have the Chilton repair manual for your car...Great resource...And it's free...check it out

The only problem is that the Chilton manuals are usually too generic.

Your better off getting Ford Shop manuals.

Sounds great but it says you need to enter the number from their library card to access. Problem is, to get card you have to visit physical location in Colorado. Can't drive 1000 miles to get a card... :shake:

Guess I'll continue using AllDataPro. :)

First off this is free as against 60 or 80 dollars on ebay...You put the numbers from the bar code of any library card, not theirs..I used my Myrtle beach library card...Any public library card bar code numbers work. You don't need theirs...Hope this helps.Try it out...

I'm almost done paying off the CC bils from my vacation and was wondering your opinion on carboagez's listing, is it still considered a good deal fastblackmerc or anyone else who has dealt w/ said seller?

Thanks in advance!

Covers look in good shape, and the corners don't look dog-eared, so judging from the pics, manuals look good.

I've purchased from Lorie and Jeff in the past, can't give you an opinion on this seller, but I can tell you that's a good price for the pair. I paid $65 for my shop manual, and $45 for the wiring diagram a couple years ago.

Considering the price you paid and the condition of the ebay listing, I just paid for the set! I can't wait until Friday to look through it! :o
Thanks for the input SC Cheesehead, much appreciated!

You're welcome. Excellent info in the factory manuals, I've saved myself tons of hours and lotsa headaches using the manual for DYI repairs; I think you'll be pleased with your purchase.

Having the shop manuals is a must if you do any kind of work on your MM yourself.

Don't want to hijack your thread!! Just want to say for anyone that doesn't have a set of manuals, if you need any info out of a FLM shop manual or wiring diagram, just PM me and I'll hook you up any way that I can.

JB, I'm not sure if your responding to me or not, but your offer isn't viewed as a hijack IMO, it's a valuable service, one of the reasons I love this site!

I've started skimming the shop manual and to be honest, it makes the Chilton manuals I've used on past vehicles look like pre-school books!

Thanks to everyone who recommended the shop manual and wiring diagrams, you know how you are!

Back in the day, when I was just a lad learning how to do mechanicking, Chiltons and Motors were the two big service manuals and were well regarded. I haven't seen a Chiltons in over 30 years, so I can't comment directly, but whatever you do, stay away from Haynes. Not the underwear, the manual. For $19.95 and in an emergency, it *might* be helpful, but the ones I've seen are chock full of confusing misinformation and are just plain wrong in many cases.
