After driving and the radio has warmed up then it looses all radio channels. Any ideas or is this a common problem? Does anyone know of someone that rebuilds these units? I like the factory radio and would like to have it fixed.

I have a stock working radio. PM me if interested.

Yes its a common problem. Search forums for the rebuilder in upstate NY (Rochester or Syracuse). I sent mine in. Seems to happen to everyone sooner or later, something about solder joints not holding up on the tuning chip heat makes it worse, so radio seems to work when cold. Usually only affects FM.

If you want to keep the stock look but have an upgrade go with an audiophile 6-disc changer unit. It's all plug and play with the added benefits of slightly more power output, keeps steering wheel controls, plays mp3s, gives you a 6-disc changer in the front (if you have a cd-changer now it won't work anymore), the only downside is you have to give up the cassette.

Thanks to everyones reply. I am thinking about the choices you have made. Thanks for the chance to get a working unit to replace this one. The six disc in dash sounds good too. I don't want to loose the use of the steering wheel buttons either and hadn't thought about that till I read the replies. Maybe I'll just listen to CD's and Cassettes for now. Thanks for the info, you guys and girls always know the deal. Or where to send me for great advise.

That's what I did too. Good upgrade. Looks completely stock.
Only downside, is with today's gadgets (USB sticks / ipods / phones), these decks don't support any of these. I personally don't care too much, as I have all that in my DD.
