What else are you trying to power and did you want the switch to power something else and not worry about having a defroster anymore?

So you want to use the defroster switch as the line lock system turn on. You will still need a switch you can press and hold to activate the solenoid/s as well. I have my wiring diagram at home, I find the defroster info and post it up for you.

You need an on/off switch to power the solenoid up and a momentary switch to engage the solenoid.

Here is a basic diagram

thanks again...I picked up a push button momentary switch (actually a horn button) at auto zone...Now If I can figure out how to wire into the rear defroster button,I'll be set...BTW great diagram...

The indicator light will come on after a on/off switch has been turned on and the solenoid to hole the front brakes will only engage once the momentary switch has been pressed and held. If the momentary switch is depressed then the solenoid will release the front brakes.

You have a red indicator light, solenoid, fuse, screws and momentary switch with most kits.

Correct me if I'm wrong (I know you will),If I'm not using a light, wont connecting the ground and power sides of defroster switch act as the activation switch???That's the way I was planning it...With no light and direct connect to rear defrost button, the on and off should work. What do you think....Remember that switch has a built in light that goes on when in the ON position...Or I could just use the push button switch I just bought.I just thought that using the rear defrost button would look neater and more like factory...BTW,thanks again for your interest, help, patience and knowledge....bugsy....P.S. I am putting an inline fuse in...

Does that switch have an on/off or is it just a push button momentary activation switch??

The one in the picture above is just a momentary activation switch.

Here are the picture of the rear defroster wiring diagram, sorry it took so long, had to find the book in my garage.
