OK....
So I'm watching TV and channel hopping when I stop on the US Open Tennis matches.
I don't watch tennis, nor do I really care about tennis and I was quickly reminded why:

With every hit the players all grunt, howl, and 'Hoo' like a bunch of friggin' idiots.

It is embarassing and very annoying to watch/listen to!
If I closed my eyes I couldn't tell if there was a Sumo match or a Porn video* on the TV.
How long have tennis players been doing this ridiculous crap?

*(Not that I'd ever watch porn.......:shake:)

Since I have never seen a porn video:rolleyes: I'll take your word on how they sound Joe Walsh.:D

I did wonder back in the 80's if Monica had anything left for her boyfriend after a tennis match or was she church mouse quiet.

Guess they wouldn't wear white outfits.

It takes A LOT of practice to harness the output of gas to propel you forward enough so one would not need to use your feet to walk, run etc. & to make sure the "intestional propellant" stays in the gaseous state instead of a liquid or solid state of "matter". (And that is the end of my impersonation of Mr. Wizard or Bill Nye the science guy on television.). If the tennis player gets it right, he/she can fart succesfully & can still get away with wearing white outfits w/o worrying about any "staining". :run: :hide: :flamer:

OK....another random rant.

Has anyone else noticed the absolutely regretful, ridiculous, and retarded dash layout that Terdyota.....errr....Toyota is using on many of their roadgoing appliances?

I saw one in a parking lot recently and just about fell over laughing/gagging at the moronic idea of putting the gauges IN THE CENTER OF THE DASHBOARD!!!

WTF!?!?

Feast your eyes on these trendy dash and gauge layouts:

http://i984.photobucket.com/albums/ae326/JoeJWalsh/Priusdash_zps30e751a2.jpg

http://i984.photobucket.com/albums/ae326/JoeJWalsh/Echodash_zpsea427480.jpg

http://i984.photobucket.com/albums/ae326/JoeJWalsh/Priousdash_zpsd089f283.jpg

The only upside to these designs is that when the driver pukes (and that is certainly what I would do if I were forced to drive one of these $h*tboxes) on the smooth dash in front of them....
It is much easier to clean up.

Knowing how most of these cars are driven,
Maybe it allows the driver to lay his newspaper open on the dash and read it while driving in rush hour traffic!?

I'm starting to notice this a lot lately, and it doesn't affect me, but I'm sure it ticks some others off.

I'll be in the right lane with my Galaxie, while a car comes along side me and paces me, slightly behind, instead of passing.

I'm pretty sure that they are looking at the almost 50 year old turquoise classic convertible, but not everybody loves old cars, so I'll bet the drivers behind them are getting annoyed.

How about the lane police? You know, two into one merge for construction and they ride the middle starting a MILE before needed in stop and go traffic!

Interestingly enough, you'd be surprised how much that speeds up traffic in some places down here. Instead of everyone racing to make sure they don't have to merge until the last possible second, they seem to give up and find a place in line without being a dick about it. The end result is the entire line moves faster because everyone is moving forward instead of fighting for who gets to be first in gridlock.

I got two words as well....LEFT LANERS!!!!

Ya know, the idiots on the interstate that drive the speed limit in the left lane and won't move over.

I make pretty frequent trips between San Antonio and Houston now, and only sometimes have I found myself guilty of this. Since the traffic is relatively sparse most of the time, I spend more of my time watching the rear-view than what's ahead of me though, so I try to move out of the left lane when I can.

The problem lies here though: I-10 between these two cities is two lanes each direction, for almost the entire length of the trip. A lot of the time, it seems like people in the right lane want to go like 10 under the posted speed limit, while people that ride the left lane want to go 10 over. People apparently can't follow a posted guideline ever. I always try to move over, with one condition: I'm not going to inconvenience myself so you can break the law. If I'm going the posted speed limit and the person in the right lane is going 10 under, I'm not going to pull over and get slowed down for you (or maybe more, if there's a pack of people speeding together) just so you can speed.

I normally don't care if other people want to speed, whatever it's your citation, but I'm just not going to inconvenience myself so you can do it.

I admit I sometimes do this. When someone has a mile notice that their lane is ending, I get frustrated with the people that run in a line until the very end and then force their way into traffic. When they do this it causes 10cats to brake which backs up traffic

That I totally get. I was referring to stopped traffic a mile long when It could have been a half mile and at least felt a tad less. It's a simple theory, one after the other merging unless you get to the one asshat that won't let you in. (Another gripe)

Cars moving along, I agree, don't wait till the last possible second and be that guy.

One more. Signals being a thing of the past it seems. (Mostly with people in nicer cars, maybe they feel their better??) It's common ****ing decency to give me at least a sign of your actions (even though I know what you are gonna try to do before you even knew...) So I play the game, no signal, I make sure you will not get in, and if you do manage, I will find a way to piss on your day.

I agree with what you're saying; if there's slower traffic on the right, it's cool...if there's no traffic on the right, then I get mad.

I also can't stand it when I'm in the left lane and coming up on a car that's in the right lane that is behind a slower vehicle and then the trailing vehicle moves into my lane causing me to slow down...

Same here. It happens VERY often on I10 out here with 18-wheelers: one may be going 70mph in the 75, the other 69mph in the 75, and so all of the left-lane traffic now must wait for miles while these two have a 1mph difference passing competition.

Well, when it comes to the 18-wheelers I can understand the rationale; in fact, if I see a big rig coming up on slower traffic in the right lane and I don't have anyone on my ass, I'll slow down to let the big rig get in front of me...about half the time. What I hate is when one cuts in front of me w/o any signals or anything...both cars and semis...

It also torques my ass when traffic is heavy and the car behind me is on my bumper...umm, I can't go any faster than the car in front of me, numnuts! I'd be tempted to do the 'brake tap' thing if our rear bumpers weren't so difficult to find replacements.

Oh yeah, and I can't forget about the people that think 'Yield' means they don't have to slow down or stop...just barrel onto the road...happened to me a couple days ago...thought I was gonna get side-swiped!

I concur, although I do not have a huge amount of love for dump truck drivers. It seems that they are oblivious to the fact that their fully loaded truck is spewing all sorts of crap either out of the bed, or from the chassis. Or when they are empty after depositing whatever their load was, that traveling in excess of 75 mph is perfectly safe to do in a vehicle that weighs 25,000 lbs.

Down here, you can spot a career trucker from a local trucker pretty easily. There are some local gravel hauling companies that don't give a **** about who they hire or how they haul. Those drivers tend to be careless *******s. Once you get out of town a ways though, either on the I35 or I10 corridor, you can find some of the guys that actually know what they are doing, and those guys will have your back if you have theirs. I have a lot of respect for long-haul truckers.

When you leave a S&R that just screwed you and massivily delayed your departure and you have 3 hours now to drive a 3.25hr run to make next del/pick up and if you don't make it you have to sit for 48 hours till they open again (if the rig isn't moving not only aren't you making $$$ but it is costing you a lot of $$$ to sit - because of vehicle size truckers are stuck dealing with truck stops where costs are 75% to 100% higher than the general public pays for their daily living expenses) and your rig is governed @ 76 and you come up behind another rig goverened @ 75 - this causes the issue to which you refer.

Oh yeah, and I can't forget about the people that think 'Yield' means they don't have to slow down or stop...just barrel onto the road...happened to me a couple days ago...thought I was gonna get side-swiped!

Yes, love the morons that come up the ramp and EXPECT you to move over or slow down to let them in the traffic lane... Duh! hey stupid, go back to drivers ed & re-learn the definition of the word MERGE! I've had a lot of people end up on the shoulder... Boobs! :shake:

Got that right lol. Only signal I know is you flash your lights when you give them the right a way and they'll blink their emergency lights twice signaling "thank You" lol

Two more words....CELL PHONE!

This just happened about 2 hours ago:

Went to convenience store to get smokes....fuel light comes on. I pull in and the pump I originally want to pull up to has a cone next to it and a 'baggie' on the nozzle. No biggie...circle around and get on other side of pump.

While I'm filling her up, a woman pulls in and is so engrossed talking on her cell phone, she doesn't notice the pump is not working and runs right over the cone, stops, gets out, notices 'baggy' on nozzle, then gets back in her car to move to another pump; all the while, her cell phone doesn't leave the side of her face.

What a (#$&#ing idiot!:mad2::shake:

Yes! Everybody gets to merge once instead of 2, 3, 4, times or more when they stay until the end of the lane that's ending.

Bob: These drivers are all a problem most of the time for one simple reason...90% of 'em are paid by the load so if they can make just one more trip each day that's more money in their pocket$$:help:

The other day I was driving on the main road in my town... Its divided with 3 lanes in either direction and left turn lanes that are at stoplight intersections......

I was driving in the middle lane doing nothing special... A Gwinnett Police Car is in the left lane coming up on my six... We approach an intersection where there is a red light. I'm behind a vehicle, the police car is behind a Honda minivan in the left lane....... Both the left turn light and the other lanes go green....

The minivan makes a left turn! I mean how oblivious can a person be?:banghead: Needless to say, I see the officer shaking his head like me, and throw his blues on.....

Road crew was trimming back trees and whatnot from the side of the road. Flagmen present to direct traffic since one lane was blocked off for road crew. Flagman on my end motions traffic to go; flagman on other end does the same thing.

"One kid cuts, the other kid picks" - that is, after the first kid makes the fateful cut, the other kid gets to pick which piece he wants.

I can't really make this a serious rant (more of a PITA), but sometimes, when I ride down the highway with the 64 Galaxie, lookers will pull alongside, about even with my door, and pace me just to look at the car.

Then, since they can't see my directionals blinking, it can be a challege if I need to change lanes especially if there's a car behind me.

OK....been a lonnnnng time since I've needed to rant.

So here goes!

After years of study and careful observation;

I have come to the conclusion that the vast majority of Toyota and Honda owners (notice that I did NOT call them drivers...that would be far too optimistic!)

are friggin' MORONS!!!......:mad2:

I have the unenviable task of driving the Baltimore and DC Beltways on a daily basis.
During these exercises in frustration, with skyrocketing blood pressure, and a road rage induced, spittle coated dashboard/inside windshield, I have come to classify the following vehicles as being driven by THE biggest idiots:

Rankings are from worst to....well.....worse.

#1 Toyota Prius

#2 Toyota Camry especially the Camry 'S' models....whoooooo....they have plastic skirts and 'S' badges....:bows:
(seems that the Corolla is no longer popular amongst the brain dead lemmings)

#3 Honda CRV

#4 is a 4 way tie between:
Honda Accord
Toyota Sienna Minivan
Honda Odyssey Minivan
Honda Excrement.....errrrr.....I mean Element

The absolutely insane, stupid, ridiculous, dangerous, dumb maneuvers that the occupants (again...I didn't say drivers as that would imply that you had some control of your vehicle!)
in the above listed road going appliances commit, never ceases to amaze...and...infuriate me!

THERE!....I'm all done......and I do feel better now.

If just one more of these idiots pulls out of a side street/parking lot/driveway right in front of me while I'm driving 40+ mph and looking me square in the eye when doing it (yes, they are close enough to see the whites of their eyes!), I am going to pull them over and snap their neck with my bare hands!

There now - I Do feel better - thanks Joe!

I agree ^^^^^^. The Toyota Corolla "S" is at the very top of my list ... followed by the rest of the Corolla family.

I think Toyota offers a "Stupid Driver Discount" because there is no way that the number of idiots driving Toyotas is a random occurrence.

OK....been a lonnnnng time since I've needed to rant.

So here goes!

After years of study and careful observation;

During these exercises in frustration, with skyrocketing blood pressure, and a road rage induced, spittle coated dashboard/inside windshield, I have come to classify the following vehicles as being driven be the biggest idiots:

My FORD RANT OF THE DAY!:

Can we simply ban the "Go Further" campaign?

Was this campaign designed by a Euro Peon? (this is a spell check issue)

No one can go "further" in a car; it is impossible. Furthermore the idea that the English language can be dumbed down to the point that the fake word "irregardless" that was originally penned as a JOKE in a play, makes it into the dictionary and people use it...was bad, but NOW A MAJOR CAR COMPANY is conflating two different words and meanings: FARTHER and FURTHER in an international auto ad?

YOU DRIVE FARTHER in a car-- a unit or measure of distance.

Go FARTHER--I.e. Go the Distance... Go for it..... I can run FARTHER than you!

Every single time I see the "Go Further" advertisement it pains me that we allow ourselves--and the companies we LIKE to propagate ignorance.

The unmitigated audacity of FORD to interchange these two (yes--just last year Webster started to allow these two to be interchanged as evidently knowing that these are two different words somehow endangered the illiterate) on purpose really makes me sick.

I grew up poor, and went to a low rate public school, and it took me years to learn (I still have trouble spelling) as I am partially dyslexic--but the meaning of the words--the most important part-- should not be fecklessly diminished.

Linguistic Relativity and the idea that the words we know (our language and vocabulary) actually SHAPE our ability to think, vs our ability to think shaping our language and vocabulary was first recognized with the HOPI Indians and the Whorf-Sapir Hypothesis.

We can all recall the highschool example that Eskimos have twenty+ words to discribe SNOW --thus thier understanding of snow is greatly enhanced--it can be argued that even stoner ski bums can better understand and relate different kinds of snow with thier Corn Snow, Righteous Freshies, pebbles, cat track, crusties, Califonia Corn, Large Flake... dude... etc... thus thier words expand thier thinking, and meaning.

But really... GO FURTHER?

What is next? I sea with my I's? Two many of they're words are too hard too understand?

No means NO. Farther is a measure of distance. You can NOT go FURTHER... it is impossible.

Can we simply just try to be more than ignorant? Can we agree to aim one notch higher than stupid?

Sorry- I just saw the advertisement three times in five minutes-- and some of the smartest stuff I've read in a while came from Lifespeed, and zack and Jerry and you guys takling about the heat buildup/dispersion in the sweep area of a brake pad... and heck--I dont know, I just thought I'd share!

Turns out that a school bus full of kids from Philly was on its' way south to DC when a certain type of vehicle lost control,
clipped the school bus and caused the bus to go out of control and crash!
Luckily no one died....but there were lots of injuries.

Oh!....and of course the idiot who caused it all walked away unharmed!

Excerpt from the Baltimore Sun newspaper:

Parker said the crash, near mile marker 88.9, remains under investigation but there is "no sign" the bus driver is at fault.

The driver of a blue, two-door Honda Civic had tried to pass the bus, which was in the middle lane, by moving into the fast lane,

There, he lost control of the vehicle, driving off to the left then returning onto the highway, crossing all three lanes of traffic and clipping the front of the bus.

The driver of the Honda, whose name was not released, refused medical treatment, police said.

Parker said after completing the investigation, crash investigators will present their findings to the Harford County state's attorney's office to determine whether charges will be filed.

I hope that every family who had a kid on that bus sues the moron for millions....and the State comes after him with lots of fines and citations.

Recieved a few PM's about this:

65 year old woman, walking extremely slowly, at a diagonal, across an extremely crowded stadium hallway, shoulders haunched, not looking left, nor right, nor even straight ahead... Many others, including me, having to abruptly avoid her, almost plowing her over. I felt bad for being in such a hurry, rude to elder, being an ass, etc. so started to help her across the crowded corridor because I figured she must be handicapped... Started to help guide her and block oncoming masses. No. Crazy old bat was Texting!

But in reality they just paid an extra 15 large for the same Terdyota that they just handed down to their teenage daughter.
(And they are driving THE UGLIEST cars on the road.....:puke:)

As was stated: They are either going way too slow while 'hyper-mileing'... or driving way too fast like friggin' maniacs.
I'd give it a 90:10 split.
No Prius owner has the brain power to consider the efficiencies of the equation: "I just plug it in and let it recharge!!"
It takes about 2 tons of coal being burned at their local Power Plant to generate enough electricity to charge their POS car!
Not very 'Eco-friendly' when you do the math.

They have that scrawny Metrosexual twerp with the kinda, can't grow a real beard, beard....
and that mutant Troll of a kid with the moppy hair!
Where in the h#ll did they find that kid!?
I can't look at him without thinking that the entire commercial is a SNL skit.

Good question -- with you on that one. Stupid commercials...………...

It all started with Monica Seles.

There’s my rant, your trying to imply gay with out saying Gay. It’s a reality that a gay is gay but no one that’s not gay can say that person is gay. Which is retarded and you can’t say that because someone that’s retarded might see or hear that and be non retarded enough to feel offended.

Most people are simply too thin skinned. I don’t filter at home or work. Don’t like it then pound sand.. I watch in amazement at workers in a bank or office setting prance around at snail pace, enjoy life, and act all PC. I’d love to have them show up as new hires on my job site!

What is it with these Jeep Tards!??
I see these over-equipped, clapped out 'wish I was a badazz offroader' poser Jeeps EVERWHERE!!

:mad2:

Here's a list for proper ID of a Jeep Tard poser:

1: HUGE fancy custom rims that stick out wayyyy past the fenders (and will never see anything but smooth, clean asphalt)
2: Gigantic knobby, jaw and teeth rattling, offroad tires (that will never see anything but smooth, clean asphalt)
3: Ridiculous height Lift Kit with $5,000 off road shocks (that will never be needed on smooth, clean asphalt)
4: 15,000 Lb WARN winch (that will never, ever be used, unless the Jeep gets stuck in the Starbucks drivethru)
5: Custom welded steel front bumper (that could support the Empire State Building along with the aforementioned winch)
6: HUGE LED light bar (that is only used to blind other vehicles who are also driving on the smooth, clean asphalt)
7: 'Angry Jeep' front grille cover (ya' know...so that you look mean & badazz along with your douche beard and loafers)
8: HUGE red 6 foot Jack mounted on the rear quarter panel, or even better, on the hood in front of the windshield
(that will never be used, for ya' know...in case you get stuck in the Starbucks parking lot)
9: TWO 5 gallon Jerry cans of gas mounted next to the HUGE fancy custom Spare, which blocks ALL rearward visibility
(for ya' know...in case you run out of gas while idling in the Starbucks parking lot)
10: Black Snorkle intake sticking up above the front windshield (so that you don't swamp the motor while crossing a rainy Starbucks parking lot)
12: 'RUBICON' 'UNLIMITED' 'JEEP' 'WRANGLER' 'SAHARA' 'TRAIL RATED' '4X4' stickers on all exterior metal surfaces (I've even seen 'WILLYS'...LMAO)
13: Upside down : 'If you can read this, flip me back over!' sticker
(which actually is useful for a narrow, lifted, high C-O-G, knobby tired Jeep being driven like a sports car at 75 mph in traffic....on smooth, clean asphalt)
Most importantly...
14: Not a speck of dirt, mud or sand on ANY part of the Jeep

If I missed anything, let me know...I'll add it to the list!

I had the aformentioned number 5 on my GMC. After pounding 2 deer that destroyed my '68 Volvo 142S and denting the front fender of my '74 Buick Century I put one on my '90 GMC and never came close to hitting a deer in 18 years of owning it. I think the suicide deer know that they would die and do little damage so they would wait for the next guy to drive by for the "SURPRISE!"

Here's something that's really been bothering me. What the hell is up with "YouTubers" and "TikTokers" becoming famous and actually generating income from their stupid videos?

Also, I can't stand it when people use the word irregardless. Is that even a word? Apparently it is because my spellcheck didn't try to correct it.

What I find most disturbing is during an emergency when a person is clearly in need of help and people respond by whipping out their cell phones to video it!!!

I have actually had people argue with me that making a video is helping the person???

Got stuck on I-95 yesterday for HOURS!

:mad2:

I imagine it had lots of decals of the drivers Instagram handle and plenty of negative camber

Adding another.

What seems like 1 in 20 cars anymore driving at night with only daytime running lights and dash lights! The factory’s should NOT light up dash lights for DRL’s. Just plain stupid.

For one, why? It’s light out DUH.

Second, how is the typical non car guy/gal going to get a clue that their parking lights and taillights are in fact off when they can see where they are going and read all of their gauges? I really want to blame the idiots driving but I can see how this could happen.

Having a fully lit dash, with the headlights/running lights Off, is a bad idea by manufacturers.

Now, let's discuss the ridiculous number of A-holes who drive around at night with their High beams ON....ALL THE TIME!!!

My favorite is when you are driving thru a parking lot at night and a "parked" cars reverse lights lite up. No worries they come on auto to lite up where the driver is going to walk to?

The best is when people jack up their vehicle so their head lights are even with your eyes and don't adjust them. Blinded by the light...

Is anyone else sick & tired of the rash of recent knee jerk reaction commercials....?!
Ya know....the 'Social Engineering' commercials?

They're all the same:
- Empowered Black Wife
- Wimpy white husband with douchey beard
- Ridiculous looking mix of kids with wildly varying shades and colors

" Oh! If only the world was like this! "

Nissan just cant seem to make a commercial with an all Black or all White or all Asian or all Indian family.
Well, Nissan has sucked for a long time....so I guess that's to be expected.

If you can't see over the steering wheel.....

YOU SHOULD NOT BE FRIGGIN' DRIVING ON THE ROAD!!!!

I have a confession to make. When I drive my '97 Express Conversion van I go the speed limit or a bit under because it's so damn slow that I forget to look at the speedometer. When I drive my Marauder I never have to check since I'm always going 10 over!

I should have never got out of bed Monday morning and slept all week. So, AZ is chapter 1 (https://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?59904-What-did-you-do-to-your-car-today&p=1590267#post1590267)
Walmart tonight is chapter 2. Stopped after work to get some stuff at Walmart. A cute young gal was running the register and she was very pleasant. The bill totaled $73.90 and I went to hand her a $100 bill, she stated she did not have change for it. I said "you don't have $26.10 in the drawer?" Nope, just a 5 and a few 1s. Well, I wasn't going to stand for that crap so said it's all I had so someone needs to come up with some change. She calls the head cashier over, says she's out of 20s and HC looks at her and asks why she didn't ask for $$ when she was running low. Answer was a dumb stare. So HC says she'll go get some $ for her. All the people in the line behind me are rolling their eyes in disbelief of what was happening. We watch HC walk to service desk which is directly across from the register I'm at. She's gabbing away with the other 2 employees at the counter and after 5 minutes she sees we are all staring at her and she yells out that she called someone to come get the $$$ as she doesn't have access codes to it. The correct person must have been in the bowels of the earth, 14 minutes it took before he showed up and I had my change... The gal behind me asked HC if all register drawers had no $$ in them, I just answered that Sam Walton was going bankrupt. That got everyone laughing.

But, wait! There's more! Chapter 3: Almost home, driving across the wetlands flat and a deer runs in to me! It made huge noise as it banged down the left side of truck. May have just stunned it. Couldn't find it but it was pitch black. Will check the damage in morning.

Chapter 4. I pull in driveway and all the mail in my box belongs to the neighbor. This wouldn't be a big thing but it is an ongoing problem which I have discussed with postmaster. Don’t get me started on the PO!

This is an easy one. Since Turdota's are generally less expensive they are driven by youngins'. As we know youngins' are obsessed with selfies and thump, thump, thump music at all sorts of ear deafening levels. It would stand to reason the blinker sound thumps along with the beat and mirrors are for looking at oneself to make sure their hair and makeup is perfect should a selfie occurrence arise. Young engineers are working feverishly to eliminate the steering wheel. Probably replace it with a cubby to store their marijuana. Nuff said! :beatnik:
