Mercury Marauder Craigslist scam!

Was browsing Craigslist when I found this too good to be true listing:

contacted the email and received this reply later:

"Hi,

The 2003 Mercury Marauder is still for sale and my final price is $3200 will be the low price I can accept! I'm selling it for this price because I'm pregnant and I don't need it anymore so this car has to go ASAP. I already prepare it for delivery but it can be picked up from my front yard. My husband will be deployed in the next two days so i need to find a buyer before we move out.
If you can't manage to come here before, we can work out something... My husband has some benefits and the car can be transported free of charge to your home address by a military carrier.

2003 Mercury Marauder - 40,225 miles. Clean title, No mechanical problems, Automatic transmission, Very clean. Needs nothing...Trail ready.. Will ship anywhere in the country...

I checked the pictures using tineye.com. Tineye takes a picture you upload to it and searches the internet to see if it matches any. Zero matches! does anybody recognize this marauder?

Looking at the interior pics it looks like a 300a but the engine doesn't unless they stripped the cam covers they look more like the 04.

I did, the thing is its a scam because "she" wants to do the transaction over the internet, promising you the car will be shipped. You send them the money and you will never ever hear from them again. Ive seen these scams many times before, But usually what the scammers do is they steal pictures of cars off the internet and use them in their post. It surprised me that A: it was a Marauder, and B the pictures seem to be taken by the scammer! the scammer usually never ACTUALLY has the car, which brings me to believe they stole the pictures. Anyone recognize the surroundings? Anyone know of a marauder with a audio setup like that?

I agree that's it a scam and thanks for alerting everyone, and i was on jokeing on the offer.

I did notice it has a failed inspection sticker with no other sticker

That exact same ad is listed in the NY Craigslist except the location is Utica NY. I was actually looking at it last night, but never contacted. I had the same story when I was looking at a Ferrari 328 that seemed too cheap as well. They lead you to a fake eBay account and take your money and you never see the car or your cash again.

apparently the scammer has a phone number ending with the numbers 19. If only gmail had the whole phone number shown lol!

Pictures where stolen from a legitimate ad for a marauder that was forsale in hicksville long island. Legitimate ad was on craigslist a few weeks ago.
