I finally got my 4.10 gears installed (labor was over $600) and my thermostat, underdrive pulleys are in the mail.
So I hooked up my Superchips Microtuner (1725) to make all the needed changes, but I got the message call Superchips code not found.... needless to say I was not a happy camper. :bigcry:
I'll be calling SuperChips on monday to send it back to be updated for my car, but how long will I have to wait till I get it back? Have any of you had to do this?

Also how long do you have to "baby" your new gears till they are "broken in"?

Congrats on the 4.10 install. The labor sounds a bit high IMO. As far as the break in period some say 1,000 miles and others not. I would take it easy for a while. :D

For the first 300 mi do not stay at a constant speed. This is to prevent harmonics from setting a crumy wear pattern. Around town driving is great. Hard starts OK after 100 mi. When I had mine done I was on a trip and tried to vary the speed for 200 mi and then said F@$$!% and that was 3500 mi ago. The diff will have the fluid changed at the 5000 mi. mark and I will see how its doing. Good luck and Happy Hunting.

hmmm,... ok, I'm gonna ask a really dumb question. Did you pull the #5 fuse from under the hood? I don't know if that would give you a 'code not found' error.

I had no problems installing mine. It has worked great since.

Wow, that is a total ripoff. Did they say they had some type of problem? I don't have a book in front of me but I think you should have paid around 3 to 4 hours max for this. As far as breakin, I don't think it is needed, IMO.

Your speedo will be off by about 15% until you get your tuner working.

Yes, I followed the instructions.
I pulled the fuse, and made sure there was no drain on the battery.
Question: what about the air shocks when you turn the ignintion to the on position?

The date on the tuner is from 10-09-03, so it needs to be updated for our cars.

They gouged you on the labor this is totaly unsat it takes about 2 to 3 hours to do a gear swap, as far as the tuner goes you should have bought the SCT tuner on sale, that has the best files in it, and Superchips is seperate from SCT. And with the Marauder you do not have to pull the fuel pump fuse, Superchips does nat have a tuner as of yet for the 04, so I am sure they will help as soon as they can, call me if I can help.

I figured you'd read them,.. I asked 'just in case' Man,.. you'd think they would know enough to send the latest program. I'm glad I bought mine from ^^^that guy!^^^

I didn't notice any problems with the air shocks when I did mine.

BTW- $600 for labor?! sheesh...

A friend of mine recently had to have his truck towed because of a fault in his tuner. They are mini computers, and they crap out once in a while! Good luck and let us know.

If there is a fault in the tuner it would show up as soon as you have loaded the program, its not a computer it is a programmer so if the person had an issue days or months after the initial upload or flash then its something besides the tuner, programing does not change or deteriorate, so again I do not feel this was a faulty tuner unless it happened right after he flashed the EEC

I know nothing about tuners as I took the old school route with a Diablo chip from Dennis. I realize you have an '04, so that's a different story.

As far as the 4:10's, you were horribly gouged on the labor. $275-$300 is fair.
Break in is no more than varying speeds as the others have said. 200 miles was my magic number. And it doesn't hurt to drive in reverse a little bit as well. You know, in the driveway and such.

Good luck with the tuner issue, and remember from now on, ask the members first, and call Dennis for items like this, this is what he does, and he knows his stuff, and always has the best prices.

B9, think positive!! If you have faith in the guy who did 410 install, and its smooth and quiet, drive it and be happy. I rebuilt my '68 9" rear last winter, some would say I saved money this way, but I gained a purdy whine at 35-45!! It's a neat sound though.

Hey Guys,

Just to clear stuff up I have a 2003 "B" Marauder with the "CRD0" code, not a 2004.

It just turns out the my Superchips Microtuner was from 10-09-04 before all the Marauder codes were installed.

Cruztaker, I did buy all my goodies from Dennis, I guess I just got an older one that was on the shelf.

Thomas C Potter, thanks for the support, I don't think there is alot I can do about the labor cost now, oh well live and learn.

You must mean 10-09-03.

You need a SCMT with a date od 10-21-03 or later. I think that 10-21-03 is the latest though. 10-21-03 is also the first one with the gear change ability

(SCMtuners for the '04s aren't out yet)

Maybe Dennis will exchange it for you since you bought it from him.
