Hey everyone!

Just bought a winter beater this week, a '91 LeSabre Custom sedan for $1100, it was exactly what I wanted!

Its a little backwards down here, its too hot to drive the Marauder during the summer...and the winter time is perfect as we almost never get any moister let alone snow.

Marauder air intake, dual exhaust, SCT3 tuner. HPP wheels. I just put 180lb in the trunk and go. Only use the Jeep when it gets really bad. I put snow tires on the wife's 91 LSC.

2012 Kia Sorrento. We received it 02 May 2012. Since then, 10,000 miles. My DTR, less than 500 miles this year. With 93 here as high as $4.79 a gallon, I can not justify driving it or the wifes LS8. :mad:

- front cardan joints worn out
- underbody corroded from salt and needs to be welded
- rear axle right spring retainer rusted and nearly broken

Everything fixable, but the cost of a new rear axle with the other things together exceed the value of the car. And so it's a "constructive total loss". :eek:

I now see you are in Germany. How often do they do this inspection there?
I heard certain states were tough, but that takes the prize. Whats the cost of this total inspection? Wow... :eek:

Inspection is every two years.
First estimate for a full repair is $3000. Shipping spare parts from US doubles the price usually. And here are no salvage yards where Camaros are stacking. I guess that's the price for driving extraordinary cars. :rolleyes:

My DD, 2002 F-250. Roll up windows, manual locks and rubber floor. 5.4 liter. 150,000 plus miles. I bought it last July for $800 from my work. Ice cold A/C and super hot heat. I love it.

Heres my new winter beater a 92 saturn 4dr i picked up at the auction with a blown head gasket!

I pulled the head and put in new valve guides, seats, and seals and viola! it runs like brand new!

Typical of MAACO, there was some amount of overspray. What is the best way to take off the overspray?

Looks good Dustin!! I've always liked the later style "box" crown vics..Almost had a 1990 CVPI myself until the 49000 miles turned out to be 149000.

Overspray sometimes can be removed with one of those clay bars..It depends where it is really..Some light polishing compounds can work or solvents too but not necessarily on painted or plastic surfaces. Where is the overspray?

Thanks, Mark. Unfortunately, the overspray is on some of the chrome, like the rear taillight bezels. Also, on the door jams over the "made in Canada sticker" and the "Calibration" sticker.

Lacquer thinner on the chrome will work great. The other areas will be more difficult.

I have noticed that alot of us are driving winter cars that are older than the Marauder and that car is 10 years old now. We really are backyard mechanics to keep this many cars on the road.

Good point. Actually, my brother went MAACO on his 1988 Grand Marquis when he was in Indiana about 5 years ago. They did just as good a job (occasional overspray) and his is still holding up though.

I'm not going MAACO with the Marauder though.

wow my commuter car (2007 VW GTI w/DSG|Boost Gauge|Sun Roof) since we only have two seasons in Cali...lol sorry we are spoiled in Cali....weather wise. Really nice to leave the boss324 at home sips too much gas only get 250-260 before light comes on~
