What would be the most accurate way to convert the rear wheel hp and tq numbers to the numbers at the flywheel??

Run it on a dyno,

the old rule of thumb used to be around 20% but some cars will be higher and some lower depending on the setup and mods the more efficient a transmission and rear the less power it will waste.

for an example Take the old rear wheel drive luxury cars to get a smooth shift the transmission builds lots of heat and waste horsepower going from gear to gear smoothly Now a worked transmission where the car snaps the next gear is wasting less.

I have the dyno numbers already, i was just wondering what is an accurate way to get the numbers at the motor. I have heard the 20 percent rule but some people say that is not the way to do it. Just wanted some opinions for my own curiosity, thx for the response

Add 60hp to the rwhp number for crank. Loss is static through the driveline and isn't a percentage that goes up with hp.

These "smooth shifts" is what I'm referring to.....
