1967 Camaro = Panther????

I'm watching a show on Chevrolet's 100 year anniversary and hear that they wanted to call the Camaro the Panther.

Anyone else heard of this?

Yes, Panther was the prototype name. That was a way cool car. Shame they didn't move to production "as is". I've got a Camaro book with a chapter on the Panther.
