I would put a crate motor in it and be done! a stroker kit sounds nice, but the cost of building a motor has just become far too exspensive!

I bought an Aluminator 10.1cr long block just before they were discontinued

Just put a 3.80 forged crank and good pistons and rods in it. Freshen the heads and your done. You already have a aluminum block. You can get the parts and bring it all to a good builder. Might as well go .020 over as well.

Most builders who are worth a hoot are busy, and won't stand behind a build with your parts. Looking at MMR's prices, Lidio may be a little cheaper, as long as you can wait to get it done, his shop is always stacked up with work, you will be in a holding pattern for sure.

Not a bad idea, its a long winter. :)

The numbers I have seen posted the stroker is not worth the costs.

If it is still available and they will take your core look into a Ford 03/04 Cobra Reman.

You would not believe the number of members that have had "problems" with motors from various non Ford builders. Most members that have had problems don't post it up in hopes the seller will make good.

And the 03/04 cobra reman is really only good for a car that already has boost or will be boosted because of the iron block weight increase and low compression. I am going with a stroker because I plan on staying NA. For a few bucks more the stroker is worth it to me instead of staying at the stock ci. Might as well get what I can out of it if I am going to rebuild it.

Yes, the 03/04 Cobra Motor was built for an S/C. Ford built it as strong as they could.

Good luck with your rebuild.

It all comes in your power goals. The guys succesfully running 1000RHWP plus usually have stock bore and stroke with great heads and cams and alot of boost.
