After Katrina until all utilities were restored the only restaurants I would eat at were Mexican and Chinese. They know how to cook in primitive conditions without poisoning you.

Thai by Ricky owner arrested at Covington-area restaurant for cocaine distribution


Accused of dealing cocaine and possessing various drugs, the owner of the restaurant Thai by Ricky was arrested at his business Tuesday evening, according to the Sheriff's Office. Ricky, 55, had been under investigation for between three and four months prior to his being jailed, sheriff's Capt. George confirmed Wednesday.

Investigators from the Narcotics Task Force -- made up of deputies as well as members of police departments -- determined that Ricky was distributing illegal narcotics, authorities said. They obtained search and arrest warrants Ricky, which led them to his restaurant.

Authorities took Ricky into custody on three counts of cocaine distribution and executed search warrants for his restaurant, his residence around the corner and his car. The investigators seized drugs, a phone and a number of laptop computers.

Due to the narcotics recovered from the search warrants, officials also booked Ricky on counts of possession of cocaine, hydrocodone without a prescription and marijuana.

The investigation into Ricky continues, and additional criminal counts are possible. No other case details were available. Ricky remained in jail Wednesday in lieu of $100,000 bond, records show.
