I am a dog lover.

Dogs are pack animals dominated by an Alpha. By instinct they please the Alpha or die.

As an owner if you are the Alpha, most owners are primarily because dogs have been bred to recognize their human owner as the Alpha, the dog will do what ever it takes to please you.

This is why dogs make great pets.

Now if we could only breed teenagers to ..............

My beagle, Copper, went into convulsions one Sunday night at dinner and had to be put down.

That's something we couldn't handle again.

My son-in-law worked for the Treasury Dept. Kept two of their airport money sniffing dogs when they got too old to do their job.

Eventually, they both had to be put down.

He and my daughter now have two other dogs, one of which is about ready to go.

I love dogs, but there comes a time, at least for us, when enough's enough.

We've got four dachshunds, and recently had a "changing of the guard." The youngest of the four has now apparently assumed the alpha role, and he DOES get away with everything (little PITA has my wife wrapped around his paw...:mad2:)
