A teenage ran over my black AL mailbox. They stopped and the next day her dad came over to help fix it.
Since I had it apart I sanded the black paint, wiped it down and painted with Rustoleum High Performance high gloss enamel. I waited per instructions 48 hours to put on a final coat and it krinkled.

I bought Valspar red oxy primer and black gloss enamel. I sanded to remove the krinkle, wiped with sand dust remover and painted with the primer.

The primer says repaint anytime after 5 minutes.

The directions or the website do not say when to top coat. Any ideas? 24 hours????

I'm guessing the krinkle was because rustoleum products doesn't play well with pretty much any other paint products and causes problems unless used exclusively with rustoleum products. Is the valspar you got rattle can? If so I'm guessing just to top coat when its dry but don't quote me on that

Yes the Valspar is a rattle can. I think the Rust has a lot of solvent to have a quick dry to the touch but if you put several coats the top coat dries quick but leaves a long time for the first coats to dry.:mad2: Hence the 48 hour wait.
