I just don't get why a company would use a name that hasn't been used for years, only to have it completely fail to represent its heritage; people that don't remember that era won't get the reference, and people that do will hate how the name is sullied, so why bother?

I suppose there are just no new original names for cars, so they draw from a hat filled with all of their past intellectual properties to choose which one to recycle?
