Ouch! Are you sure it's seized? Any unusual noises before or during?

It seems like Philly Marauders always have some sort of engine issues.
Remind me to keep mine outta there!

Good luck, O/P.

No worries, last time I was there was 2004 for a show at the Trocadero. While walking from the hotel to the club I got harassed by every homeless person in Philly. Afterwards, I got Chinese food from some place across the street and then barfed all night!

I pulled my own engines, did all the work myself assembling the long blocks, etc. Found a local engine builder, checked his rep with the local community and got my original block checked, cleaned, bored, honed, new forged rotating assembly installed for about $2,100. That'll be going in next Spring.

Do you know why? Over heat, low oil, ect?

low oil...the thing is i get my oil changed every 3k miles and it just seemed to have leaked out somewhere without me knowing. Just checked it a week ago everything was fine, yesterday all hell broke loose.

Sounds like the perfect opportunity to take the time and build a monster engine unless this is a DD. Sucks but you gotta look on the bright side

Low oil could of been due to the oil filter adapter gasket leaking or when the oil was changed the gasket on the oil filter itself may stuck to the adapter and a new filter was put over it which isn't going to seal.

When my oil filter adapter gasket went I lost 2 quarts of oil over a weekend, no leaks on the ground or anything.

This might sound dumb, but have you tried putting more oil in? It could have just been the timing chains clacking like crazy because they weren't being lubricated enough.
Obviously that's not a good thing, but it doesn't necessarily mean the death of your engine.

Just my $0.02.

If you do really need a rebuild, check with the local Mustang clubs for recommendations.

If you need a new or reman motor you can always get one from FORD. Part number 3E3Z-6006-ABRM. The list price in $4333.32 with 1 k core charge but you will get that back. They may even do better on the price. Comes with a 3 year unlimited mile warranty. I was told would take about a week to come in. Good luck with your repair.

We actually have a very well known shop in our back yard L&M engines, located a couple minutes from Will of Grove Mall. I second what others have said build something stronger with the money you would use to buy a reman. stroke it.

Ref the oil filter housing to block gasket leaking. Since the 4.6 increases oil pressure as it speeds up, it is not unusual for there to be no visible leak at the mating point of the two parts. As you speed up and drive, it then leaks. Looks like a power steering leak since it can barely wet the nearby parts but the movement of the car carries away the actual oil.

The classic symptom is low oil level in a short amount of time but no "visible" leak or blue smoke from exhaust. The oil filter housing to block gasket tends to start leaking at 100K miles..

my .02 worth..
