Man, repair after repair. Just got done with the Ryan's and then the axles and now this. Drove my daughter to a party and insisted I go in to meet the parents to make sure they were there. While I was inside for 10 minutes someone backed into my car and smashed the grill. The hood looks a little high but none of the lights got damaged. Looks like I can fix this myself but I'm POed I'm pretty sure I know who did it but didn't see them and theY left by the time I got out there.

Damn! That really sucks. Shouldn't you report a hit and run? Then they should be forced to pay for it right?

I did report it but you know how that goes, 750 deductible probably 1k in damage at most and then it counts against me. Yes I could ask to see the back end of the cars that dropped the kids off but then I risk accusing friends of my daughters, that gets hairy. I'd like to believe someone didn't notice but they crushed the grill, they must have heard it. Just bothers me that they drove off.

I don't wish any harm to anyone just hope a parent notices a ding on their car and asks the kid.

That sucks man. Might wanna try http://www.certifit.com/ for the grille. Never mind the website not listing one, I have bought a couple from them and their Addison location usually has one in stock. Plus they come already black! :) IIRC they are only like $56.00

That sux, somebody tagged my front bumper when I was in WPB for Fun Ford Weekend.
Spineless scum. I could never leave after damaging someone's car.

^^^That seems like a deal from Certifit. Did you have to "massage" it at all to get it to fit? I had to do some massaging on a tailgate I bought from them. Didn't make me too happy but ehhh. But plastic'd be harder to make work if its way off

justbob how do they fit? They have a big warehouse in my area.
Sucks on the hit and run. I have been there with my Black.

I had to heat up the bolts and reset them in the palstic to fit the holes or you can wallow out the holes.

To be a nitpicker, the top corners are a hair to low, but considering the OEM one didn't exactly fit perfect, I don't really let that bother me. I do like the flexibility of this one over the stocker, it will definitely take a small hit and flex a little and not shatter..

Bolt holes were damn near spot on, no massaging necessary.

But just like the stock one, don't actually tighten the nuts down, just snug them or you will have a roller coaster across the top in a year.

Was there alcohol served to the parents while the children were at this party?

no alcohol at all. It looks like I am going to eat this. I think I have an OEM grill stored away somewhere. I'll check with the one Justbob recommended, Thanks. The paint on the bumper now has cracks but unless you look closely you can't see them. I'm sure in a few years the car will need a paint job anyway so it can all be done then.

I went through 4 of the aftermarket grilles. They suck. I finally spring for an OEM one and life is good.

I thought about that but at this point I just want to get the grill back on and the car looking decent.

yep, I'm thinking this is when most people would say "screw it I'm getting a new or newer car." I keep telling myself one more repair and it should be good for another year without anything happening. Not much left to replace or repair - hopefully
