I saw these at the car show at Rosemont I think it was last year. IIRC they're doing a GTO one too

I'm thinking, Nah.

I'd rather have a Super Duty, Ram Air IV or anything pre-77.

OR, ALL OF THE ABOVE FOR THE COST OF THE 2012 6t9. FTW!

No offense to 77-Current TA's intended but I love the 70-76 T/A's and performance Firebirds.

Very cool.
I still miss my '78 T A that I ordered new from Frizzel Pontiac in Houston...TA 6.6, WS6, 4 speed...martinique blue, black vinyl interior... with no bird on the hood...no t tops...only 17,500 miles on it...when i sold it 8 years ago.
RATS!

For 13 years I actually had a 1981 Firebird Formula, with of course a Chevy Drive train, before we parted company.

Its been out for awhile now. Last year at Sema and possibly the year before or I may have seen it at Barrett. It looks great in person, much better then the Camaro.
I am going to SEMA tomorrow and will post up some pics Friday.

Yep. A black supercharged T/A convertible. I was there too. Quite an amazing showing of such one off factory cars and prototypes last year. I'll go again.

I love the Smokey and the Bandit editions!!!!

I remember alot of my friends had new ones in the 70's and we called them Trash Cans because everyone would end up losing it (ton of torque) and hit something. And when they hit they folded up like Trash Cans!

Those were the days.......mid 80's you could pick up a half way decent 77-78 4 speed model (maybe t-tops if lucky) for like $4800.....wish I would have bought a few and held onto them.

What my son Brad didn't mention in his post was he used to borrow my 64 chevy SS to just baby around town and have fun, this was not very often as I was strict as hell. Later I heard (learned) Brad raced everything out there! And let me say when you have 4:56 gears with a 4 speed he was wiping the shXX out of those trash Cans. LOL but it was light to light!

I was lucky enough to drive a 1970 Trans Am about 20 years ago and I was impressed with the power & torque. 400 cu in motor with the shaker scoop....:D :burnout:

Ah the memories......

It belonged to a family member who eventually sold it.

The up keep was $$$ pit.

Kinda looked just like this one but it was automatic:

That's the first time I have seen the GTO and the SuperBird mod. The GTO has the tach on the hood like the original.
