I know this is an old thread but since the pics no longer show up on the pages. I just was wanting to know if I use the center cap on the front am I modifying the factory emblem to the point that the original mounting screw is no longer usable? And also am I removing the backing of the center cap where the retainer ring sits or just trimming the tabs for the ring?

No, you still use the same mounting stud.

Remove the retaining ring / clips.

I peeled the emblem off the backing for the center cap. Then dremmel out the flying M and glue the wheel emblem in. This is the trunk emblem in the pic. I didn't dremmel the whole flying M out of the grill emblem. Just enough to fit the wheel cap in.
