You guys are great, no Veteran has ever taken the thank you for granted. It means more than you could ever know. Everyone who serves has their own reason for doing so, and no matter what that reason is, I thank all my fellow brothers.

"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them."

How many remember when it was called "Armistice Day?" The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.

How many remember when it was called "Armistice Day?" The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.

It originally commemorated the end of World War I and the ceasefire on the Western Front. After World War II, the name of the holiday was changed to Veterans Day in the United States.

I personally recall it being called "Armistice Day" into the early 1960's which is how most of my parents and relatives remembered it during their lifetime.
