How many remember when it was called "Armistice Day?" The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.

It originally commemorated the end of World War I and the ceasefire on the Western Front. After World War II, the name of the holiday was changed to Veterans Day in the United States.

I personally recall it being called "Armistice Day" into the early 1960's which is how most of my parents and relatives remembered it during their lifetime.
